If I were Holt and saw TO got 6.5mil and I think I'm better and have 4 good years left...then I'd want a 5 year contract that avg 7mil. Gimme more SB and I'll take 6.5mil a yr. Gimme less SB (so you can more easily cut me) and I'll want 7.5-8mil/yr.

Titans probably want Holt for 2 years at 5mil/yr. And there - as they say - lies the rub!

I couldn't get the articles to come up. Where they written before or after Cutler was traded to the Bears? If they were written before he was traded that might be enough to get Holt to go there.

I really hope that NYG and Chicago don't get into the Torry Holt hunt. Cause if they do, I think they would be more attractive to him.

It would be nice if we made him a solid deal and he decides to sign with us sooner than later. Cause the longer he plays this thing out, the more likely he signs somewhere else.

I don't know, Holt's knee worries me. He could add to the the free agent WR graveyard the Titans have going...

Article was published on April 3, and the statements by Holt's agent were made on the same day according to both newspapers. (Tennessean and Chicago Sun Times) Cutler/Pace deals went through the 2nd. Pace and Holt have the same agent as well.

The ball is literally in the Titans court and I think they should take this opportunity. Unless Fisher has some weird epiphany that "his way" won't cut it with this revamped personnel on offense, there shouldn't be a worry about his health. We should have more than enough weapons to spread the field and keep Holt fresh enough to play as long as he believes he can.

I doubt we get him now. When he left Tennessee without a contract that was it. We tried to trade for him and were in discussions with him for a while. When he came here I thought that was it, he was signing but with him leaving something went wrong. Mabe his knee isn't go IDK but more likely we aren't giving him the right numbers. I doubt that changes. Holt will wait it out and some team will eventually make a move on him and pay him what he wants. I don't see a scenario where the Titans numbers go up. We have our price and thats that. It seems we as a front office put a value in place and stick to ours guns on it never re-adjusting it accordingly.

IMO it said a lot when he left Tennessee without a contract.

It's Holt's last payday so he's looking for T.O. money. With Gage and Washington both being paid to start, I don't see the Titans doing anything remotely close to what T.O. received.

With the draft just a couple of weeks away, I'd rather see the Titans try to find some talent at WR early but, if they can't, then look to bring in Holt.

it would be nice if we got him for the fact that the leadership is something our wrs could use. but i am not going to sit and cry if we dont get him.

Yea, if he wants more than $6 mil a year like you guys are thinking, that's a little ridiculous. I have a feeling we won't get him if he wants that big of a contract.
