"I want to show I'm better than I was in Tennessee," he said. "It's not about the money, it's about being great." Haynesworth called the Redskins, Bucs, and interestingly the Giants potential suitors. He's expected to command a deal worth $100 million over 7-8 years, or franchise quarterback money.

See ya down the road Hanesworth.

I agree BP...screw him. And screw Collins too. Tennessee was the place that allowed that turd to resurrect his career...well, sort of anyways. And now he's going to start making demands and test the market. I know it is a business but damn, no freakin loyalty whatsoever from anyone anymore.

"It's not about the money, it's about being great."...um...yeah...like anyone really believes that. So he is basically saying that he cannot be great with the Titans. Well, good luck with that...

If Collins believes that he even remotely deserves the kind of money that Warner would garner he is out of his mind.

I wouldn't put a foolish statement past Haynesworth, but on the other hand, he's really not a dummy, either. He's extremely intelligent. Either way, I think this is a major shot across the bow, or maybe it's aimed directly at the ship, but I'm not so sure it's the latter. This is a player's one chance to put it to their org. You know most players have a love-hate relationship with a place, and it's natural. You go back and forth feeling different ways. Haynesworth has been here seven years on one contract and one tagged year. Depsite the problems with, oh, say, Gurode, staying healthy, hating offensive linemen, speeding and what not, Haynesworth hasn't been the worst distraction a team could have. In fact, all in all, I'd say regarding contract items, he's been kind of low key, until a rather appropriate time, around year five. He knew for a while he didn't deserve it, but I still think that a lot of players who do and did less than Haynesworth, even in years 1-5, sometimes ask for that extension or whatever once they get even a little shine. Al hasn't really griped or threatened. Once it was clear he deserved a large payday of some order, he just said "It's time to talk." Well, we've let it go on two full years now. Despite all the crap that's gone on in his life the last few years, I've got to say he's been very patient in this regard.

So, if he wants to say something like that on the eve of free agency, I'm not going to be mad at him, and no one else should, either. Anyone who is upset is basically biting on play action. It's not personal, people, and not meant to be taken as such. It's a play, Albert and the FO are on the stage, and we are the audience. They're still playing chicken. Al may have to mean what he says in the next couple of days or whenever if the Titans just back down, walk away, but getting offended I doubt they do. It's business. They're still playing chicken. Al is a baby. He wants to be shown love. The Titans want him to first admit he needs or wants this place as much as money -- they want love too, for basically putting up with his big baby king kong @$$ for 7 years and not Adam Jonesing him sooner.

Recognize game, folks. Cause that's what it is until his name is on someone's contract.
