Yeah, I'd like some games that two can play together. The couple that slays together, stays together. We'll probably go shopping tomorrow. Thanks again for the opinions/advice.

Eh...I'd rather spend 200 on a gaming device than 400 for one that has a slightly better dvd player. BUT that's just preference.
Again, Blu-Ray is nothing but a waste of money imo at this point. No significant difference between it and dvd. (save the debate. It barely looks better. My opinion.) It looks better, but not anywhere near 200 dollars worth better. It's not like the vhs to dvd upgrade. More like 1020i to 720p. Once they're cheap they'll be worth buying.

But if you care about the new mini-disc of movies, the PS3 would be a steal. Otherwise, I'd just figure out which games you like more or what your friends have if you plan on co-op'ing online with buddies.

The free online doesn't hurt either for the players who don't want to invest money in something they aren't necessarily going to play everyday. I like to play online, but at the same time, the sometimes mediocre severs (and the dedicated servers for most games are absolutely fine BTW) are better free than paying for all the stuff 360 users have to pay to play. Just personal preference though.

Let's put this pay to play online thing to bed once and for all. If the PS3 costs $120 more than the 360 then you could get a 360 and two years of online service for the same price. I mean, $5 dollars a month? If that is an issue for you how are you buying games or a system for that matter. But whatever, free is free, even if it sucks (like it currently does). Don't get me wrong, I am not a total fanboy but I have played both online and for my money I will pay the $5 a month to have a good experienxce. I hear PS3 is improving and if they do I will back down from that stance but right now it is what it is.

That's not putting it to bed. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the online part of the PSN.

I've never had any issues getting online or playing anyone online. No lagging. Nothing.

It's ignorant and complete fanboyism to think otherwise.

And if he isn't going to play online often there is no need to waste money on it. Plus wi-fi if needed.

I only played online on ps3 a couple times when I had it, but it was pretty bad at the time. Constant disconnections, lag, etc.
Plus, the download times for demos and updates were unreal. They may have changed that by now.

Updates are annoyingly slow, but I've never had any other issues.

yeah, and a wifi adapter costs $100.

i'm not about to drill a hole through a wall and have an ethernet cord going down the middle of two rooms just so i could save $100 for something that should be included in with the system.

doesn't the Wii have wifi built in?

Wii and PS3 have wifi in built.

I can't believe the 360 doesn't, considering it is Microsoft, how could they not?
