Tsk tsk tsk. What happened to that Vince? That's the Vince that I want back.
I think 90% of his passing plays should be some sort of bootleg or rollout. That plays to his strengths, and would wear a defense out really quick having to chase him every play like that.

That would have been a TD if Vince would've led Bennett up the sideline instead of making him basically stop and come back to the ball. Blame it on Drew all you want, but that's the reason VYs on the bench too, because as a 3rd year player, he's still making that throw.

Really? That ball was thrown 45 yards on the run to the left for a right handed passer. Hit him in the hands and he dropped it. Make all the excuses you want but he should have caught it.

it was kind of a rainbow. he's right. a longer, lower trajectory ball with less hang would have been the difference.

The video evidence seems to indicate to me the Drew knew he should have caught it by his reaction to his drop.

We are talking about a National Football League Quarterback, not a High Schooler right?:grrr: Every QB in the league, 1st, 2nd or 3rd stringer can make that throw. Bottom line, bad throw, bad drop by Drew. It's kinda hard to make that catch when the defender is running right through you and the ball is coming through him. It's the opposite of a back shoulder fade, it was so underthrown that it almost drew a pass interference call on a guy who was beat by 12 yards. That is terrible. But yes, Drew should've caught that ball.

If they are standing still. Very few QBs could keep the play alive long enough for Bennett to come open. Everybody's talking about trajectory and which shoulder he threw it to, but you aren't going to see many quarterbacks throw perfect fades while running away from a defender and then throwing the ball across their body. Heck, there are a lot of quarterbacks that can't throw perfect fades anyways. The fact is Vince hit him in the chest, on the run, throwing across his body.

    And Bennett dropped it. :grrr:

It was a designed bootleg, and every Qb learns in 10th grade to get his shoulders parallel to the LOS, plus the ball will carry when you are making a throw on a rollout. That just goes to show how deft a touch VY has.

We can agree on one thing....Drew Bennett dropped that ball.

I only brought up Fades because it was underthrown. There is no other reason to reference a fade. Don't get confused with VY keeping a play going, when in fact it was a designed roll-out and Bennett was wide open the entire play. And VY was not throwing against his body, he was pointed right at Bennett and showed good mechanics.:hmm: Just badly thrown and caught.
