  1. i honestly think if we were 16-0 coming into this game they would pick baltimmore to win. i have never seen anything like it. its not really that it bothers me i just dont understand it. we played one of our worst games in a while last time we played the ravens and still won. what happens when we play good. what more do we need to prove to get some respect. #1 seed. best record. have already beetin the ravens. swept their entire division. and give up less points a game than anybody. the ravens d is good. their offense is garbage. the dolphins had 5 turnovers and 3 started them inside the miami 15 and with the exception of the last td they had only scored 13 point of off 5 turnovers 3 of which they started in field goal range. i hate the ravens. ray lewis is a murderer joe flacco looks like bert and leron mcclain is fatter than lendale white. everybody picks us to lose so i would like nothing more than for us to win and then slap the **** out of the steelers AGAIN so the can cry and blow there noses in there terrible towel. GO TITANS!!!!!!!!

OK we get the fact that we should welcome it because it motivates the team.
But it's a legitimate question to ask. WHY IS THE MEDIA SO DEAD SET AGAINST THE TITANS?

As the original poster of this thread stated. "I've never seen anything like it"

There has NEVER been a team with such a great record as ours this year to have been dissed like this. They all proclain Jeff the best coach in the league so what in the hell is the reason for all this blatant disrespect? Because it's not even a lack of respect it's blatant disrespect!

It is market dynamics. The Baltimore area pulls more ratings, sells more products and media hype has a greater effect on profit on the other larger markets.

The media doesn't set point spreads the betting does and we are 3 point favorites right now.

Where is all the media bashing of our team? Recent history has shown that a strong wildcard team have beaten higher seeds on the road. We did that ourselves in 99 and were the victim of it in 2000.

We are three point favorites at the moment to even the house. Everyone knows that point spreads are set by the bettors. They made the Ravens three point dawgs to encourage betting on the Titans to even it out. All Vegas wants is their cut. You know that. The media says what they say. It influences bettors as well as consumers. If the media was all over the Titans saying the Ravens didn't have a chance Vegas might make the spread even or make the Titans +1 just to encourage bets on the Ravens. Let's not even pretend that vegas odds are a true reflection of what to actually expect.

    edit:
Rolltide, my post supports yours rather than contradicts, regardless of tone

Here is a site that shows us as a 3.5 favorite and 60% of fans picking us to win. Apparently the media hasn't got to them yet.

I could care less if some moron picks us to lose but the analysis is often poor and ignorant.

    1. They say the titans are slowing down or not playing as well as earlier in the year. They ignore the obvious fact that we played our B against the colts in a meaningless game and we reamed the 2nd seed steelers a team that beat the ravens twice!

    2. The sack ratio is never mentioned by any of these butt holes.

Our o-line and our QB have given up very few sacks. The ravens have a good pass rush but not a great one. The ravens are tied for 11th in sacks. Given that the steelers only sacked kerry one time we can protect our QB.

On the other side our defense had 44 sacks and flacco has been sacked 32 times.

Clearly our o-line should have the edge in protecting their pass rush and our defensive front the edge over their offensive line in rushing the passer.

    3. Experience We have the most experienced coaching staff in the league. They have a rookie coach. the steelers have a 2nd year coach. Has that advantage EVER been mentioned by these idiots?

We have a QB who has started 10X the games their QB has started. does that matter? I have heard nothing about this either.

Not only is Collins super experienced he's not going to be "wide eyed" going in. Flacco is a great rookie qb but then again so is Matt Ryan. The Falcons aren't playing in the divisionals. It's not really a common occurrence that rookie qb's end up in the play-offs. It's kind of a freak thing that two are/were there this season. I guess some autistic savant could probably cite others but I'm going to guess that it's uncommon. The point is Collins has what I consider to be a sizable advantage in that regard.

I tell you what though, whatever advantage Collins has is equalized by the presence of of DMASE in the Ravens huddle.
