I thought Carr signed a 2 year deal?

Never thought I'd say this, but we should probably pay Collins what it takes. I think most of those other guys are worth trying to keep too. In that case, then yeah the FA money will be mostly gone.

The upgrades to the roster will have to come through the draft, and maybe a few cheaper signings like Carr.

Otoh, I guess the market could go crazy for some of our guys and MR may let them walk like Odom and LaBoy. Not sure the market goes crazy for Collins, maybe. Fo sho on Al. Maybe also on Scaife.

Haynesworth is our best player. Must sign. Don't understand why anyone would want to let him go.

I think he's our best defensive player, so he's worth a lot. Of course it may become very hard to weigh his value vs what it'll take to keep him.

Are you purposely exaggerating on the other points? For whatever reason, he has been injury prone. It's not like he has the same injuries that make you nervous about his long term health. He gets speared twice in two seasons by our own LB's dislocating (or hyperextending?) his elbows. The pile falls on him a few weeks ago. Some bad luck. But it's true, luck or not, he hasn't played a full season as a starter. He doesn't average just 10 games a season either though. I don't think he only plays hard on 1 out of 4 plays either.

I think he is soft, and that causes him to miss some plays. Overall, that's not that big a deal though. Not when you weigh it against the difference he makes.

There's definitely some concerns, but the last 2 years have been convincing to me that he deserves big money even with those concerns.

I am not just talking about the play he got hurt on. Every single game he goes down on the field. EVERY GAME!! Every time it happens I always make the comment, well, there is Als one hurt play per game.

Look, I am not taking his ABILITY away from him at all. He is a MONSTER and our best player, when he wants to be. But the problem is, after he gets that big check, do you think he will be? If so, go sign him.

If we sign him, I wont be upset. I hope I am wrong, and we resign him to the biggest contract ever for a DT, and he comes out and plays 14-16 games per year and is a huge force. I just dont think he will be. So before you think about jumping all over me, just understand, this is my opinion and I hope I am wrong.

It's going to be a massive bidding war between us, Atlanta, and Tampa for Albert's services, IMO.

Tampa has a lot of money to spend, and Atlanta is in dire need of a good DT.

My gut says he's a dirty-bird next year. He and Abraham would be a nasty combo.

I just can't see Fish letting him leave.

And, we do know that he has a say in personnel matters.

In Albert's first few years here, he and Fisher did not get along. I hope they got over all that...

I would hope Fish tries to keep him, but Fish is not stupid, and isn't going to give him half of Nashville.

Offer him what he's worth, which I think we'll do, then watch someone else break the bank for him.
