I guess they're not worried about the kids at Div II teams missing school, they have a 24 team football playoff...

Texas has played the hardest schedule of any team BY FAR and beat Oklahoma. They should be number 2.

I am so annoyed about the constant BCS griping, particularly on ESPN.

We should all be LOVING the BCS. At least it provides a championship game. Pre-BCS there was just random bowl games.

In my opinion, the BCS only failed once in the past 11 years. That was when Auburn went undefeated and got screwed. That's the worst case BCS scenario, 3 undefeated major conference teams.

Otherwise, I love the fact that it's either "Go undefeated and make it the National championship (if you are from real conference)" OR "STFU and see where the system ranks you".

As far as I'm concerned, USC, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Penn State and any other 1-loss team can EAT IT. Whine and complain now because you couldn't go undefeated! You lost, this is the system, DEAL WITH IT!

That said, I would love a college playoff, but not if it's done sloppily. An 8-team playoff doesn't fix things. It just leaves out the 9th team, which likely has near the same record and right to make it to the playoffs as the 7th,8th,10th ranked team.

Fix the conferences first. It's the Big12s fault for having a stupid tie-breaker. I think doing away with divisions would be a good move as well. And EVERY conference needs a championship game. That would make the college season much more fair.

Fix the system first, then make playoffs.

Uh...so "You lost! Eat it!" translates how in a championship matching?
The BCS is retarded. It fails EVERY year, not just one where Auburn was cheated. If they'd stop putting OSU in, we would've had a different champion the last 3 years.

    :disbelief

    :ha:

    Texas out of conference schedule:
    Florida Atlantic 6-6
    Utep 5-7
    Arkansas 5-7
    Rice 9-3

    Oklahoma out of conference schedule:
    #13 Cincinnati 10-2
    Chattanooga 1-11
    Washington 0-11
    #11 TCU 10-2

I don't think Texas schedule was even as difficult as Oklahoma's. Let alone the "hardest schedule of ANY team by far".

You lose, you face the wrath of the Polls & Computers. Been that way every year of the BCS, every conference agreed to the system.

You don't want your team to have to face polls & computers to make it to the national championship? Then win all your games.

What makes a broken playoff system better than the current broken BCS system?

They had to play oklahoma when they were #1 then mizzou when they were #2, beat them turn around and play #8 at the time ok st. then #7 tech.
    Ohhh...but that's nothing, right?

Name a team that had a tougher road. And it better not be an SEC team, because I'd consider Georgia, Auburn, UT, Vandy, etc ALL cupcakes at this point.

I think it's well documented on here that I dislike Texas just as much as any SEC school, but c'mon.

A broken playoff system is CLEARLY better than a broken computer system. At least this way teams are PLAYING for the championship. It's decided on the field.
It's pretty simple. It works just as it does in college basketball.

Guarantee there'd be 10x's less complaints.

The only team listed that Oklahoma didn't play is Missouri and they will play them in the championship game.

Plus Oklahoma played TCU and Cinci when Texas played nobody out of conference.

I don't see how you can say Texas's schedule was anymore difficult than Oklahoma's.

    Not to me.

Sure, there would be less complaints. Wouldn't make the system anymore fair in my opinion.

I'd rather go back to the old system, no bcs & no championship game, than to go to a broken 8-team playoff system.
