He's talking about who would take Schwartz's job if he got a HC role.

I think Wash is happy with just being the d-line coach.

I dunno, he'd probably enjoy yelling at an entire defense rather than just one aspect of it.

And he is lethal with a cup of soup in hand.

Neither mcginnis or washburn. Any chance of washburn being a DC has long passed. 2001 would have been the time for that.

Note that mcginnis is 7 years older than fisher who is 50 now and washburn is 9 years older so maybe he wants to bring in a younger guy like a chuck cecil who is 44.

If the job was given on merit alone it would be washburn hands down. Both monte kiffen and jim johnson the 2 best dcs in modern history were similar in age to washburn when they finally got their first DC positions. So why not? I just don't see it happening.

    Why not washburn in 2001?

He had quite a bit if experience already when he came to the titans. He was a DC in europe. He was briefly a head coach in the arena league and had tons of coaching experience on the defensive side io the ball college and pro.

Look at the results of our defensive line in 99 and 2000 his first 2 years at that job and you wonder why he wasn't automatically promoted. He was ripe for that job then so i doubt if he is in the running.

As much as it pains me to say this...he has done a pretty good job so far this season. We'll see how long it lasts. I think he still has his prevent defense ready for whenever we have a lead.

like a lot of topics I go back and forth on Schwartz. I'm definitely a "what have you done for me lately" kind of guy and well, lately, Schwartz has looked pretty darn good. Maybe it was the personnel. I do love to get caught up in hysteria... so if all hell broke loose I'd be the guy walking down the street with the new television.

    A schwartz homer, wow.

He did not do that for 17 games last season. How about the Texans game we almost blew? When AH was out last year, we were the same lost sad defense.

Wow, some of you guys just can't get over this one (Texans vs Titans)...First off, I highly doubt Schwartz can control when his secondary blows coverage, or for that matter the offense gets lucky as hell, and yes the offense had a few lucky as hell plays..The keyword in your statement is ALMOST, we won, and you can't put the debacle all on schwartz, theres 11 other guys out there that need to take some of the blame.

As far as AH being out, how is that Schwartz fault? Yeah the defense is built around Albert, it's no secret, so when we lose a guy like that, just like when the colts lose a guy like the Sand Man, the defenses are going to struggle.

I'm a Schwartz homer and I honestly don't see any reason not to be, the dudes been nothing but a stud when hes had decent personnel on the field.
