What I don't understand is why no one is bashing Garrard for his performance that was nearly as poor as Young's. Clearly Vince has some issues, but both the Titans and Jaguars have excellent defenses that are probably going to shut down a lot of good players.

Great. I agree. But what does any of that have to do with what Young's mother said? How does anything his mother said affect other teams in the league?

the only thing she should have said was: no comment.

I don't want to get into the mother stuff because it's not PC. BUT, I can guarantee that her quotes about her "baby boy" will be floating around the locker room of every team VY faces from here on out.

And as SEC said.......she should have said "no comment" rather than let this hit national news.

Exactly, we're not the Jags, so we don't care about what Garrard does. Plus, he had a great year last year, and from all accounts, our defense IS pretty good. VY wasn't under as much pressure as Garrard.

Plus Garrard spent a year or two as a back up to Leftwich, learning how to do it right. You don't see him missing MRI appts. or trying to take himself out of a game do you? Nope he just keeps on truckin'!

Vince's Mom is not media saavy and failed miserably. She meant well, but made things worse. The team has put it behind them and now are focused on preparing for the game in Cincinatti. Today, it's a non-issue to the team.

Point is a lot of players, including QBs, have gotten boo'ed at home. Whether you agree with the fact it happens or not, it happens. I have not seen a player that I can remember react the way VY has.

As someone pointed out, its not coming easy to him and he doesn't like it. He is not used to it and so rather than man up and fight through it he has indicated he would rather give it up [according to reports anyway]. I am not sure he has what it takes mentally to be an NFL quarterback if he is at this point now.

I would have had much more respect for him if he had just stood up to the media and said "for some reason my game is not where it needs to be and not where I nor the fans expect it to be. I am going to work to try to and get it there and hope the fans will be patient with me in the process."

However, I also expect some of these receivers to start owning up to their shortcomings in the process as well. Where the heck are the interviews with them asking why they are not helping him any more than they have. I will say that despite them being constantly called one of the weakest and worst WR corps in the league, I have not seen them bailing and threatening to quit.
