What conference produced a team that showed it had no business in the championship game the past two seasons?

 

And who should've been in the 2004 championship game and would've beat USC? Yep, Auburn.

 

The only negative thing I can say about the SEC is...

 

The fact that Auburn did not get to play in that title game is still disturbing to me. I'm just saying if UT got punked like that we would have been raising hell. That should have been the end of the BCS. Hey but Auburn took the high road.... something which I am currently not capable of doing ever. So really we should be saying 2 LSU titles, 1 Florida and a should be Auburn all in just the past few years. SEC domination.

remember 1985 when Jimmy Johnson choose to play the Vols for his championship game. Tennessee utterly destroyed Testeverde 35-7 so Miami my buttocks. Too bad that Vol beatdown gave Switzer another championship, but at least it kept Jimmy Johnson from getting one.

I think comparing bowl records seems to always put the SEC at a disadvantage. My problem with using that as a good comparison of conferences is so often you see SEC#7 vs. Big10#3. Or something similar. That just doesn't make for accurate conference view, imo.
