After a couple of days of freezing on every game I tried to play, my xbox finally decided to give up. That's right... red rings of death. So what do I do now? Do I send this sucker in to Microsoft or what?

Follow these directions then you can get it replaced. They will send you a coffin(box) to return it just remember to remove your hard drive and face plate when you do.

Yep, just call 1-800-4-MY-Xbox and they should send you a coffin to return your 360.

They will either fix yours or send you a re-furb.

I think the entire process is only about a week now.

I called the XBOX guy, and he told me there would be a 99 dollar fee for repairs because my XBOX is out of warranty. But isn't there a three year warranty for RROD? Needless to say, I told the guy I wasn't going to pay right now.

My PS3 broke as well, except my damage was a simple fan malfunction. I called the Customer Service guy (dick). He told me its $150 to repair the console, I replied with "150 bucks to fix the fan? Are you kidding me?". Apparently unless you have the receipt you have to pay the money to get it fixed. These guys will sucker as much money out of you as they can before your able to play that thing again.

my buddy's ps3 broke, but he bought it off of ebay, so no receipt and no warranty.

the day MGS4 came out he bought the bundle and the separate game. he took the serial number sticker off of the bundle ps3 and put it on the brick one, took it back and got his money back.

i've had a ps3 for over a year and have had 0 problems.

ehhhh Pretty much everyone who has had a xbox got rrod. I got it twice. The 2nd time they fixed it for free and then just sent me a brand new console. Until then I was pretty much ready to give up on microsoft.

Ps3 as well and haven't had any problems with the console.

The controllers though, they've seemed to give out on me though. I've had three, and at least two seemed to have random buttons catch, and charge life on them doesn't seem to last long.

Sucks to hear about the 360 rrod. What a ****ty inconveinence. I considered getting one, but don't see reason to have both. The WII is starting to seem interesting as a diversion and good platform for small groups.

i broke one controller, but it was my fault, i stepped on it. bought a new one and put the old one in the box and brought it back to walmart and got a refund(see a pattern?)

i had two six axis and traded one for a dualshock so i haven't had much time to break this one.
