You have to consider all the variables....its not just black and white. Other priority positions to fill, no cap room at the moment (all clears up next free agency), Alex Gibbs hiring should help the current stable of backs while we fill other positions of need, building through the draft and not willing to give up huge contracts yet, etc,etc,etc...

He is building the team for the long run and A. Green and Chris Brown are merely stop gap solutions. Heck, if just one of those guys stays healthy.. for the price we paid them... then hell yeah. But you cant do everything overnight....he walked into a horrid mess from the first regime. And no, I am sure he is not at home going everything is going to be great in Houston. He understands there is a lot more work to be done to get this team REALLY where he wants it... which is a contending team year in and year out.

Slaton will end up with a lot of carries this season. If he isn't any good, I expect you all to pick a back early next year. We all know Chris Brown and Ahman Green are not the answers.

I agree with your viewpoint. It scared me when I heard the Texans hired him. I think he could become a good coach, but he's got a tough division to compete with.

    My thoughts exactly.

I expect Slaton gets at least 80 touches this season. CB and Green might have a couple big games, but neither will last all season at starter.

:ha: Only the Texans could be in cap trouble without ever having a winning season...

Again, it was Charley Casserly and the HORRIBLE contract negotiator he employed before this one. Todd Wade ring a bell?

The more important point is we WERE in cap hell... I mean bad. From the first 4 seasons of the original regime. And its taken patience, building through the draft, and no stupid FA moves by our new GM and contract negotiator Chris Olsen (an MVP of the organization now). I am amazed how far we have come in so little time with what they were up against. And the plan is for next off season to go after the few key pieces left to get us to where we want to go (assuming this past draft works out).

 Yes! Who do they pay..... Which ever tackling is dummy lining up behind center. Losers. Dungy has to get the edge in this competition. He has the ring. Fisher can be a close second. Del Rio is third. He has a playoff win.
