Not saying it is a fluke. The Celtics are playing well while the Lakers are playing their worst.
The Spurs were the 2nd best team in the NBA. Lakers first. Boston 3rd. So it's not a "best" team issue. The Celts wouldn't have even made the finals had they had to play the teams the Lakers did to get there.
They were lucky being in the east when they were playing like the Lakers are now. Now that they've got it together, they're good enough to beat the Lakers that are playing like the C's were vs the Cavs and Hawks.

The spurs were not the 2nd best team with ginobili the way he was. I don't know why you have no respect for the celtics. They have 3 hall of famers on their team and they play the best defense in the league. The lakers have one great player and play terrible defense. I understand people got caught up in the hype of kobe and predicted them to win because they thought he could just carry them to victory but it's really not that easy to do. And which team would the celtics have lost to? The nuggets were the worst team in the playoffs, the jazz are terrible on the road, and the spurs had one of their stars injured.

As of right now, Paul Pierce isn't a Hall of famer...KG and Allen have a shot, but even if Pierce wins this title, hes still not sure fire HOF material.

I don't know how you can say that, they're starting Center is out for the season, Pau Gasol is a 20 and 10 guy, Derek Fisher is a SOLID point guard.
    and Odom is decent.

They're defense isn't THAT bad, they are near the middle of the pack in Points per game allowed, and play in a way tougher conference then the east, with a lot more juiced offenses, including the Warriors and Suns. Kobe Bryant was All defensive 1st Team which is also a bonus.

Paul pierce has averaged 23 points 6 boards and 4 assists in his career, if you can find me a guy who has averaged that and not got into the hall of fame i'd maybe buy your argument.
Gasol almost put up 20-10 last year on the memphis grizzlies. To me he is not a great player. He averaged 13 points against the spurs and 14.5 against the celtics so far. Fisher is a solid point guard but he's not great. And odom is decent not great. None of these guys can take over the game like great players can. Odom comes out the other night and is tearing them up and then just disappears. The 3 celtics can all take over a game and each of them have in this series.
The west also had 4 of the lowest 5 scoring teams in the nba. The lakers do not play good defense no matter how you argue it. I have never seen a game where a team couldn't get one stop in the final 5:30 minutes of a tight game.

And kg has a SHOT at making the hall of fame? The guy is a lock for the hall of fame. He's been all-nba 10 straight years and all defense 8 of those years.

I have respect for the Celtics. I like almost every player on the team other than Pierce (because he's always been awkward and his drama stunt made me lose all respect for him) and Cassell. (how can anyone like cassell?)
They're a good team. Great team. Just not as good as the Lakers - ON PAPER. When you look at the rosters, they aren't as good. But to be as cliche as possible: "That's why they play the games".

I think this is good for the NBA though, if the celts win. Because this year was supposed to be theirs and the Lakers overachieved and were the favorite late. Next year is supposed to be the Lakers, considering Bynum stays healthy - but the Celtics don't have much competition in the east, so they could be right back in it as well. Celts win this year beating Lakers. Lakers beat the Celtics next year. Spark the rivalry back up.

Oh, and Pierce is no hall of famer. Dude's never even made all nba 1st or 2nd team, has he? And Ray Allen is iffy in my book. Good player, but not one of the greatest in the last 10 years or anything.

No Pierce really is in pain. He'll probaly need surgery after the Finals. How are they not better than the Lakers? All the Lakers have is Kobe. It takes a team to win and the C's are proving that point. Allen has been one of the best and is definate HOF. Pierce, that's a close one but considering he's been a Celtic his whole career and will probaly own some Boston records by the time he's done I'll say yes.
