One of those 'steal' picks who look good (but who doesn't look good without pads?)

Jesse Mahelona was a projected 1st round pick we got him in the 5th as well. He's gone now.

Henderson is the hometown guy, but I dont think they should have gotten rid of Stroud... I think Okoye is going to be really good throughout his career, so I couldn't go with one team over the other.

    Agree.

I wonder who people think is better between John Henderson and Albert Haynesworth straight up?

I would take Big Bad John, but I doubt I'm in the majority.

Okam has a clean slate, and still a chance...thats all I am saying. A very long way to go indeed... but the word on the street is so far so good.

Kubiak has hit on a lot of late rounders since he has gotten here. In the 06 and 07 drafts.... we got CB Fred Bennett (one of the better young CBs in the game), LB Zach Diles (7th rounder now pushing for the starters spot), TB Owen Daniels(one of the better young TEs in the game), G Kasey Studdard, S Brandon Harrison (could also see significant playing time this year)... all 4th rounders or later. We got LB Xavier Adibi in the 4th this year.. and could be quite the Stud. So with this being considered... I am not counting Okam out by any means at this point.

Daniels is certainly a steal, like I said in the Tight End thread (boy that sounds gay) he is probably the most under rated player in the game.

I'm not saying Okam won't produce, I'm just saying every team has the late rookie who looks good early.

I will agree. If he does start to produce tho... I am going to never doubt Kubiak and Smiths drafting abilities moving forward. Its hard to now, but if they hit with Okam (long shot I know)... then that would sinch they know what they are doing on draft day..... and the Texans will most likely be top competitors for a long long time. Man that sounds good.

Thats a lot if what ifs and maybes your talking about. They haven't done anything yet so what your saying is what they might be not are. So as of now they are still nobodies and you have no idea how they will perform given significant playing time if they do get it.

The only some what proven player is daniels.

Actually.... no, the only "what if" is Okam I mentioned. The others are doing just fine and as a matter of fact are ahead of where they were projected to be at this point according to where they were drafted.

There is a main reason why the Texans have gone from 2 wins to 8 wins so quickly considering how horrible this team was back then... its the draft picks of 06 and 07.

Here is a snippet from an ESPN insider article regarding one of our recent 4th rounders:

Hate and doubt all you want... but you will see soon enough. Just remember who told you so.
