    Can I vote yes twice?

Should be noted that those "ear things" are only one blue tooth option. They have visor units as well that mount inside the car. In my truck the bluetooth system is built into the nav/stereo unit in the center console so when a call comes in or is placed it goes right thru the stereo speakers..

If there's a chance that other people could wind up dead or paralyzed over another person's vanity, it's time for a law. Love or hate the gov't, sometimes laws are enforced by public demand..

I don't like the whole, phone calls coming out of my speakers. I get bored while I'm driving by myself and I'll chat on the phone, then if I get to a light or some traffic, I'll text message. I really wish that I could get a driver on a daily basis then the whole problem would be solved!:bully:

I knew you have no responsibility whatsoever.

I talk on the phone all the time while driving and I've never had any problems. If you drive a manual where you're having to shift then it's pretty dangerous but I drive one handed usually anyways so there's no difference. I don't think bluetooth really helps that much because the people that get distracted are usually distracted due to the conversation not because they have one hand off the wheel.

Just to clarify, the government doesn't pay for anything. Citizens pay for the government.

That's how it should be, but if you're doing stupid things, your contribution will have to be covered by other, more responsible people.

To be fair, I also don't think that talking on the phone impairs my driving, though I think it impairs many peoples. I also recognize that I could be wrong.

I also want to slap someone if I see them wearing their bluetooth device constantly, they're terrible social devices.

However, I STILL think it's ok to make a law preventing people from talking/texting while driving.

I drink alcohol all the time while driving and I've never had any problems. If you drive a manual where you're having to shift then it's pretty dangerous but I drive with one eye open usually anyways so there's no difference. I don't think sobriety really helps that much because the people that get distracted are usually distracted due to the voices in their head not because they have only one eye open.

do you really think drunk driving and talking on the phone are similar? Some people that talk on the phone are stupid about it and it does become dangerous. There's also some people who are running late to something and they become dangerous drivers. Or some people become dangerous drivers when they're drinking a coke while driving. There's going to be dangerous drivers no matter what kind of laws are enforced. If they determine that new york or california's streets are much safer because of this law then I think they should make it against the law to talk on your cell phone while driving.

I know several people who have driven drunk to some extent regularly for years. They think that they can, and wouldn't say that it's a big deal. It's hard to say who can make the call of what people should and shouldn't be able to make their own decisions about.
