I know, I know, everyone is going to think that I'm crazy. I'm the sick puppy that voted for the Texans. However, I really think that Harrison is done, that he won't come back in ANY significant way this season. Wayne and Gonzales are a good pair, but I think Andre Johnson is better than either. True, I think Wayne and Gonzales will probably have more receiving yards this season than any three Texan WRs, but can you really blame that on the talent of the WR corps? I think the system pads those stats, so I'm throwing this vote out there... Feel free to mock, but I think it's at least a valid point.

    It is interesting actually.

Wayne had 104 recepts, 1500 yds, 14.5 avg, and 10 tds in 16 games.

A Johnson had 60 recepts, 850 yds, 14.2 avg, and 8 tds in 7 LESS GAMES.

I wonder what a top 5 pick like AJ's numbers would be at with Manning throwing to him??

**Oh, and Kevin Walter is our #2.... not 3. And I look for him to break out this season. His numbers of 65 recepts, 12.5 avg, 800 yds, 4tds should go up dramatically this year as Kubiak has already stated publicly he regretted not using Walter near as much as he should have. He likens him to a McCaffery he coached back in Denver. Andre Davis is a solid #3, not to mention 3rd rounder WR Jacoby Jones (has all the physical tools) is waiting in the wings.

This is probably the strongest area of our team.

Johnson is better than Wayne, but since he can't stay healthy, I'll take Wayne.

Well, last year was really the first year he missed any real significant playing time in all of his 5 years in the league. He took a mean hit over the middle...not avoidable (Cept for the play call late in the game we had in the bag). Yet, he still came back and played the final 7 games of the season. I know, he just had surgery to clean up his knee to get fully ready for the year... but until he misses any more time during the season. One miss he has already come back from doesnt equate to can't stay healthy. If he misses lots of time this year, then yes. But no worries from him or the organization at this point.

He missed 3 games in 2005. And it's not a good sign that he has knee trouble this early in his career.

No... in 2005 it wasn't a knee injury. Just nicked up... and that whole deal was easily forgotten. And its only not a good sign if he misses ANY MORE time due to the knee. Thats not in the plans... so no worries yet. He would have played if it were regular season. The scope was to follow up and clean up for improvements. If he has trouble in August then its time to worry. But until then, AJ and the organization are planning on him being back in a couple of weeks. Again... he played the final 7 games last year after the knee injury and racked up 46 receptions, 689 yds, 15 avg, and 4tds.

Its something to keep an eye on, but not many are really worried about it.

Anyways, the point is, the difference between Gonzalez and Walters is bigger than the one between Wayne and Johnson. And I never said it was a knee injury in 2005, although I see where you got that.

Point being, everyone is planning on AJ being healthy this year and thats the way I am looking at it. Check for AJ. If not healthy... check for Wayne.

I know Gonzales missed some playing time last year... but Kubiak really likes Walters and the dude still had 65 receptions after coach publicly said he made a mistake by not throwing to him more last season. He is very underrated and his numbers should go up this coming season as he will be more utilized.

And its hard to argue with the depth of Andre Davis and Jacoby Jones for the Texans. Colts lose here if Harrison doesnt make it back to his old self... who turns 36 in August.

Oh, and those guys have an offensive machine to play in and Peyton Manning to catch balls from.

All I am saying is after rehashing it... its a bit closer than I thought.

If the Colts have Harrison, I would give them the top spot. If they don't, I would lean toward giving the Texans the top spot. The Texans are very deep at WR and with a little stabalization at the QB spot and the RB spot it COULD really show up this coming season. As it was last season no one feared the Texans rushing attack and they were able to key on the passing game. I am still not confident in the Texans running game and their seeming idea that two 1/2 RBs equal one RB. Time will tell.
