Ummm, yeah. After seeing this I’d cut Willis in a heartbeat.

You could put a baked potato in at QB for that system and still get the same results.

Purdy looks the part of an NFL QB. Can he sustain that? Idk...

Willis looks like he's never heard of football.
Can he be an NFL QB? Absolutely not.

Willis was drafted as a project or if he wasn't then JROB was worse than I thought at evaluating talent. He should have been the 3rd string qb and not seen the field, but the Titans forced him on the field waaaaaayyyy to early and it showed in a bad way.

The NFL really should allow 3 QBs on the roster with the 3rd guy only being able to play if the other 2 get hurt in game. Would make for a better product on the field and possibly lead to better QB development.

Regarding Purdy I think he will earn the starting job for the 49ers next yr. The question is what are they going to do with Trey Lance. Do they just keep him to back up Purdy or are they willing to trade him?

We are interviewing a 49er gm.... if he becomes our GM then he will have knowledge on both Lance and Garapolo... if we are looking to go a different direction at QB.

Problem is, you don’t draft projects in the 3rd round

Purdy has the “it” factor. He is confident, decisive and in control. Willis is done. Question is- should Titans make a move for Garrapolo or lance. Both are updating their resumes right now.

Pretty crazy that Jimmy G was their guy, then they decided to go with Lance (until they had to go back with Jimmy) and now they may move on from Lance already for Purdy.

But nah, Jimmy doesn't seem like an upgrade and Lance hasn't shown much in his short time either.

The best thing that can be done for a rookie QB is to allow them to play pressure free or as close to that as possible.

Purdy doesn’t NEED to do anything and SF is very much in a game, probably still favorites against most of the league.
The weapons he has without any real pressure on him is a huge bonus.

CMC does t get the credit he deserves for easily being the equal to Henry from the backfield and a big Receiving upgrade.

Willis unfortunately was also put in a position where he HAD to play well to get wins and without the same weapons or an OC that even knows how to call a game to the weapons.

As far as their draft status, I think it easy to say anything in hindsight, but every single team didn’t want Purdy at least 6x over and Willis was argued even earlier than he went. Maybe not everyone, but some.

Even our own resident GM didn’t call Purdy and he knows literally everything and is never wrong about draft picks.

Purdy being in the right system and having competent coaches definitely helps! Willis is a big project I’m not sure the Titans have the coaching staff to help him progress
