I love the hypothetical metrics. It’s how nerds can put blame on other players and try making the case that someone is better than they are.
For example, don’t care what analytics exist, AJ Brown never had a “better” season than Kupp’s 2021 season.
Reminder in case anyone forgot: 145 catches, 1947 yards, 16 TDs.

Second, I notice the cool metrics discussed don’t have any value that considers “availability/not injured”. I’m sure Brown drops down pretty low among the “top WR” when added to the metrics. That and in the brief mention of Brown, it relies on his 2019 season which we all know his production dropped from there.

Stretch at this point to suggest a ball was dropped on Brown. If anything, smart move NOT paying him $25 mil/season since he’s not as good as the other WR making $25 mil/ season.

His camp cut off communication to the Titans. He wanted to be paid big money a lot of guaranteed money, also IMO he wanted to be the guy on offense not play second fiddle to Henry, and the fact we are a run first team. You could also throw in the fact his boy was Hurts, they spent the off-season working out together. Some of y'all might be in denial.

If AJ Brown wanted to stay, he could have accepted a salary that matched his appx production?

Any idea what the “low ball” offer was?

Does anyone know if Brown was threatening to sit out without a new contract? I don’t recall hearing any of that, but also could have missed it.

While I agree THill is currently overpaid, two pieces come to mind about it:
    1. Per JRobs usual tactics, he seems to keep shorter contracts which makes the final season or two are expensive for almost any FA he signs, especially a QB.
    2. The QB price tags are ridiculous all around the league, salary cap hit is huge for THill but his avg per year when signed wasn’t as bad around the league. I think there is more that could have been done about the $38mil cap hit this year. Of course, not a new topic either.

I certainly won’t defend the failed draft picks either. Had a few of those even kind of worked out, Titans would be much better. The complete whiffs are killing the titans now.

I think it was 18 mil per with incentives to reach 20 mil...but I could be wrong

Ya you're correct I believe it was the 16-18 mil range with the incentives to hit 20 mil.

Tom Brady takes much less than his production would dictate. I’m sure there are others that don’t try to break the bank every contract, even first.
If I recall, Henry took less than he could have gotten to stay a titan.
