We can but to say he’s responsible for hiring the OC is just wrong. No truth to that statement at all.

the GM is responsible for personnel hiring and firing. He may be his choice to yield to the HC's preference in regards to assistants, the the General Manager is RESPONSIBLE for the personnel. So there is absolute truth to the statement.

I get you like JRob. A lot. But he isn't elite as you frequently debate. He's just above average, maybe even good. But he is guiding the ship right now, locked us into an inescapable contract with Tannehill (over Brady). Tannehill is his QB. The OL and K problems are his.

Vrabel is responsible for the coordinators. Every head coach in the league is also. Period.

I have been critical of the Tannehill contract since he signed it. The reason we can’t escape the deal now is because of the restructure (which every fan was upset with JRob for not doing earlier)

remember the kick the can down the road? Well now you’ve caught up to the can.

This is the first “bad” contract he’s signed with a player. And Tannehill is not even that bad. He’s just not going to get us to a SB. This is our peak with him at QB.

You’ve changed your mind like a teenage girl on JRob the last 2 weeks so I think you need to let the emotions of last night wear off first lol

I haven't changed my mind. I grade JRob on his performance. It's a dynamic process as it should be. You, on the other hand, are locked in defending JRob as "elite", despite the success or failures of his performance.

And you are just flat wrong if you thing the GM is not RESPONSIBLE for all team personnel hiring/firing. That's the GM's job description. Some GM's allow the HC to heavily influence the hire or contract renewal, but ultimately the GM bears the responsibility. That's how it works. For example, who do you think is tasked with firing an assistant for a breach of contract or policy and procedure violations? Who is responsible for assembling and executing employment contracts? The HC? Hell no. The GM. I really don't care to debate about- if you don't see it cool. We can just agree to disagree on this point.

    JRob isn't Elite

Until moves are made to make this team Elite consistently, he won't or shouldn't be considered Elite...imo

I think for coordinators and even position coaches, when a GM hires a HC, it’s on the condition that many of the coaching staff are part of the HC’s choice. You’re not going to get a lot of HC candidates and certainly not quality if the franchise doesn’t allow some of the assistant coaches to be selected by the HC.

As far as the physical contract, I think that has to go through the GM.

The head coach chooses the assistants. You are way off. A head coach assembles his staff.
