See this is the part I don’t understand. We’ve been bringing in proven NFL kickers. Badgley nickname with the Chargers with “the money badger”. He had a great reputation for being a very good NFL kicker. It’s not like he’s signing guys who haven’t been a kicker before.

The guys just aren’t making kicks in the game.

I think we should pull up the “Titans release Ryan Succop” thread again to expose some people who keep saying we should have kept Succop :biglaugh:

It’s easy to say that now!

he was bad when we released him, there's no denying that

"then it must be the coach"

like GoT said, no kicker is going to change how they kick at this point.. i'm not defending the ST coach because ST has been underwhelming since 1905.. something else is the issue

when we release a kicker that sucks, we keep bringing in other guys that suck, so clearly talent eval is bad

How are we supposed to know a career 83% FG kicker can’t make a kick? Lol that’s what I’m getting at. How do you know these guys “suck” without signing them and letting them try? Their track records say they don’t suck. All you can do is give them an opportunity.

Again if we were bringing in guys who had never kicked in the NFL before that would be different. But we aren’t. These are all experienced veteran NFL kickers.

honestly... and I think its worth considering

let Kern kick ALL kicks, but of course minimize any FGAs by just what you said

allows an extra actual player on game days

How does that make it wrong to say it now? Sounds like sour grapes for those who time proved wrong.

Not what I said at all. Hindsight will never be wrong. Has nothing to do with being right/wrong.

My point was that people will complain either way. People would have complained if we kept Succop, people are complaining now that we didn’t keep him (even though they wanted him gone).

well yeah- but not the same people complaining both ways. If they do, then by all means they deserve criticism.

But a lot of times, people get roasted by their unpopular opinions by a few posters here that tend to get on a bully pulpit. I have no problem with folks taking a minute to remind those folks they were right, especially when they were bashed for their unpopular opinion. That's all I'm saying.
