Hoping for the best with Farley health wise. His game speaks for itself. I personally would not have made the Farley pick in the first when Newsome was still there.

    A. Injury History
    B. Hasn't played in a year....

Just not a great combo for a first round pick, especially after the Isaiah Wilson pick last year.

Newsome never played a complete college season.Health-wise, not an upgrade.

Yeah. Newsome missed 14 out of 35 games in college and didn't finish numerous others like the Big Ten Championship game.

Tough call. Skip on the potential HOF talent and get the safer pick. Like Dyson instead of Moss? Now if Newsome had a better track record for staying healthy the pick makes more sense. My guess is that JRob was looking to trade out, maybe to a team wanting to trade up for an OT, and was hoping he could get Farley a few picks later. But not being able to do that he took the best player he could which was Farley. If Farley isn't there he might take Darrisaw instead of Newsome. So basically forced to pick at 22 we take Farley.

Also, by trading back, even if he loses Farley we still have half a dozen reasonable choices at WR, CB, OT and edge (+ Baremore) we would end up but with a quality player, an extra draft pick. Certainly Farley, if he gets out on the field, is the biggest impact player we could get.

Apparently Barmore is an Isaiah Wilson waiting to happen. Leaks out of Alabama indicate they pretty much had to sit on him to get him to go to class and get to practice on time. He needs serious micromanaging to keep on track. So, glad we didn’t go that route.

Interesting take since Saban and BB have coached together and been buddies since the 80s. The Pats drafted Barmore (after trading up). Need I say more?

Oh, let me add that the "leaks" of Barmore being a dud could have been concocted by BBs staff for all we know and the Patriots were all over a 1st round talent in the 2nd round. That is literally all it takes now days to get a player to drop. Start a few rumors he is lazy, doesn't love football, isn't a good teammate. The "leaks out of Bama indicate" and a mid first round talent ends up getting picked by the Pats in the 2nd round.

Idk, Bill's rocker might be starting to crack.

He went out and spent a fortune in free agency, and then drafted piss poor Mac Jones -- something tells me he's feeling major indirect pressure from upstairs...

If the same doctor(s) who signed off on Jeff are involved with Farley --- then I'll give it a go.

The reality is we really don't know. Simons is a DL who had an ACL. RBs have come back horrific ACL injuries' (Gore suffered two different ACL injuries and Willis McGahee had one of the most gruesome knee injuries') and still went on to have real good careers. Not sure we have a reliable track record for Farley's issue.
