Two questionable picks in the mid rounds.

The other thing is we have to be mindful how blessed we are to take "questionable" picks. At one point, we used to have to to take a player and they had to contribute immediately. The dude built a roster we can afford "luxury" picks. In my opinion even with last years debacle of a draft (due to the pandemic), he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Robinson probably one of the least likeliest GM to be fired

Which are the rounds JRob supposedly excels in..but we need to wait and see, the FO spends alot more time researching these prospects than we do

Fans are super fickle. I don't think people realize just how hard is to not only create a winning ball club, but sustain it. JRob has made some amazing decisions while also being very bold.

Most GMs would have stuck with Mularkey after 2017. Instead he parted ways with a coach coming off a surprising playoff upset of KC at KC and hired a young HC with zero HC experience. Most consider Vrabel to be one of the better coaches in the league at the moment.

He traded for DeMarco Murray and Ryan Tannehill when everyone thought their careers were toast. Each player turned out to be a star for us.

Most GMs would have forced the HC to keep playing Mariota, a former top pick who the franchise invested heavily in. Instead, JRob brought in competition for him and let the new coach make the decision on replacing him.

He's handed out the some of the largest free agent contracts this franchise has ever given out. Ryan and Butler were terrific players for us. We'll see how Dupree does, but he's been an elite Edge rusher over the last couple of years, so I feel pretty confident there.

I will hold it against him when it starts to impact our success. But he missed in every first rounder but hits on he second and third rounders and we keep winning...I see no reason to complain or move on from him. The is paid to build a team that wins consistently. However that happens or what ever combination of draft success, trades, resignings, or free agents gets that done, I don’t care.

I'd love to know who some of the people who are down on JRob think is a good GM. Because I can assure you, any GM has their misses.

For example, let's just look at the NFL darling Chiefs. The Chiefs have been great because they nailed the Mahomes pick, but they have lots of other misses in the draft in recent years. Mecole Hardman has been meh at best, even with the best QB in the game. They have like 1 starter out of their entire 2018 draft. 2019 isn't really any better. 2020... yeah not a lot looking good there either.

Most teams get 1-2 actual starting caliber players from each draft at best. JRob has had two drafts that were homeruns comparatively - 2017 and 2019. He was able to get 4 starters out of 2017, and 4 out of 2019 once Hooker becomes a full time guy this year. Heck, he even got 2 out of 2018 with Evans and Landry, when we only had 4 picks that year!

2020 was a down year, but it's possible that Evans and Fulton still end up solid from that draft, so that's not an entirely lost cause.

It's just so, so dumb to say he's on the hot seat just because he didn't take the players you wanted.

Steelers and the Packers are about the only other teams with a higher hit rate on their draft picks that I found. Both teams have drafted extremely well lately.

Still think it's dumb to say he's on the hot seat after drafting a guy who just got arrested for punching a woman??

And has now drafted 2 players in 2 years that will have both been kicked out of league before they even see the field. Wilson and now weaver!
