RB HoF today

Still too early. I think they are the current guys (not almost retiring) that appear to have the best shot.
That’s why I say of those guys, I see Ingram as the best shot by his mix of yards and TD.

Realistically, over the next couple years, McCoy, Lynch, and Peterson are the only guys that are still active and will have a shot. Pretty much everyone else that I would consider to have a shot, is already retired and eligible.

 

I agree but I’m not so sure the HoF agrees. I say that because EG is an excellent example of how a player can have a much bigger impact than just statistical production. I think he needed a couple more years.

A guy like Steven Jackson is looked at differently because he was on a bad team for years and was almost the entirety of the Rams offense. His numbers were up most years but because the team success was not good, I see him getting overlooked.

 

Curtis Martin had a couple years of league leader status. Gore reached 1214 and 1211 as career highs. He reached 10 TD once.
Early in his career he had some decent receiving numbers but truly was never any single season dominant.
I honestly think that hurts overall.

Martin had 5 years over 1300 yards and 4 seasons with 10+ TD. I think that is a HoF consideration difference.

 

Ya, first 1k/1k guy too. I always thought that was a big accomplishment 10 years before Faulk came around.
