I believe it's likely that hes better than our other backup options, and he certainly has playoff experience should anything happen to RT. Usually I would say he is not good enough for the distraction he would cause. However, with the way things are right now, I think signing Kaep would instantly make us a favorite organization of many players around the league, which can benefit the team in a number of ways.
All that said, I still dont think he genuinely wants to play football anymore. He is doing fine financially, has his activist platform locked down, is 32, and isnt going to be a starter anywhere without injury.

Cole McDonald cut his dreads off, so now we need to make up for those woke points.

I wonder if he really wants to play as well...a couple of coaches have said he would be worth signing but if that's the case why hasn't he yet?
No harm in trying to sign him, see what he has.

Pretty low bar to be better than, without seeing either of them play of course.
I'm only opposed because I think it hurts the team for the distraction HE brings. Has nothing to do with his abilities (after 4 years off) outside me not thinking he was ever starter quality anyway. As a backup, if quiet (him and the media, which is impossible), he probably would be an upgrade over Woodside or McDonald, but again, that doesn't say much.

I don't wonder at all. The answer is no, he does not want to play. Plenty of "taboo" reasons why but this is a good thread, I don't think we need to ruin another one on his account.

Coleman and his agent parted ways. Hopefully his new agent will convince him to lower his asking price, he would be a nice addition to team up with Henry for a 2-2.5 million price tag. The Titans have to be eying up a veteran, beginning the season with Dawkins or Evans as the #2 would make me feel extremely uncomfortable. If something happened to Henry the offense would be in shambles because the Titans don't have the receiver depth to air it out and Dawkins nor Evans are bellcow backs, they're more suited for 5-10 carries a game.

You mean Devonta Freeman? And no thanks anyways. He was beginning his downslide in ATL and hasn't been healthy lately at all.

He appeared in just 63% of games over the past 3 seasons, and his 2019 was just flat not good:

    2019 yards/carry: 3.6
    Career avg prior: 4.3

    2019 yards/reception: 6.9
    Career avg prior: 8.1

And he wasn't even being asked to be the bell cow in 2019. His touches were limited, and he was still very inefficient.

If the argument is to bring him in to do passing down work, I'd argue that Evans is a better option anyways because he has a lot more explosiveness, is much cheaper, and offers a lot more upside.

If something happened to Henry, I'd never trust Freeman to be able to carry the load anyways. I'd expect we'd sign someone off the street at that time rather than fill up our roster with running backs. Maybe bring back Fluellen or sign someone off another practice squad and go with a committee approach.

My bad, Coleman was Freeman's teammate and I confused the two. Freeman parted ways with his agent, I'm unsure what transpired but he was set to make 4 million with Seattle before the deal fell through. You can't really hold the 2018 stats against him when he suffered several injuries barely playing, he was a healthy back prior to that. His career clip is 4.2 yard per carry and 7.8 yard per catch at 28 I'd be good with J Rob bringing him in on a 1 year deal with some incentives.
