It ruins the media’s narrative if the whole world finds out what every team in the NFL knows, that Colin Kaepernick sucks as a QB. And that he actually hasn’t been blackballed because of his protest but simply because he is a terrible QB.

It would be devastating to his brand and the “Victim” narrative it has created, I guarantee you he’s paid to NOT sign and play, by NIKE, and other radical groups using him as their mouthpiece.

 

See, in kaep land, he's the guy who led the Niners to the nfc title.

In reality land, he's a QB who had significant flaws in his game, got beaten out by Blaine Gabbert, and hasn't played football in years. Oh, and he instantly turns your team into a media circus.

What he thinks his value is and what gms do is world's apart. That has always been the issue.

 

to be fair, he wasnt terrible, just not good enough to be worth the multitude of distractions he chooses to bring with him.

This whole “platform” concept (for whatever cause) is so unentertaining, I watch WAY less NFL and ZERO NBA. I watch WAY more NHL. If I want politics, I’ll watch/listen to news/talk media. I’m sure all the pro athletes would get all the air time they want there. But those compelled to utilize their “platform for change” simply want to hijack the product people are tuning in to the and for what they have often paid.

 

I have a theory about Kaep. He saw the writing on the wall so he leveraged his last season to launch his "cause" before he became irrelevant

I dont think hes coming back, but I kinda wish he would just so we can stop hearing his name

 

Good point but what team wants that? That team would be constantly harassed by media and activists as being “unfair” to Kaep because they didn’t give him enough time to get reacclimated etc. they’d never concede his game simply isn’t good enough.

Same thing on a smaller scale happened with Tebow. His cause wasn't nearly "woke" enough to gather the same kind of support CK has. Luckily, there are a couple instances that people can argue he wasn't good enough based on his NYJ/NE stints. That kind of halted some of the madness.

 

Cannot agree enough. That has been the downfall of ESPN.

I don't want politics in my sports. That's why I like sports. It's an escape. It's 22 guys and a ball... Nothing matters but what happens on the field. It's pure.

A little politics is inevitable in other forms of entertainment. Music, film, books, etc. But leave sports the hell alone.

 

I agree that the reason he isnt signed is that teams know he sucks. I also think alex smith wins that super/harbaugh bowl.

Who would want the media circus and divided locker room for a has been that never really was?

Maybe he balls out. Maybe he'll stink up a stadium who knows? Either way I'm a Titans fan 1st and foremost. I'm all for whoever's on the squad. Everything else can take a backseat to my rooting
