After watching Tanny shaking and freezing his butt off in KC I probably wouldn't even pay him the tag money. 3 years 50 million plus incentives that could bring salary over the 30 million everyone wants to give him.

Start all games + 5 million. Make superbowl another 5 million.
Win superbowl another 5 million. The 31 million would then be worth paying.

I wouldn't have gave Foles that contract without him earning it with incentives.

Those numbers are insane and not realistic IMO. Aaron Rodgers gets $150k for such feats. Kirk Cousins gets an extra 500k. Cousins does get a nice $2M bump if they win SB and his team is top 8 in passing.

We could offer over 20 million and lower the incentives a bit, but I don't know about too much more than that.

What's more insane is to just give an injury prone Tanny 30 million after one great year. I'd give that to Brady because he is a proven competitor and is great in January's cold weather. Draft Jalen Hurts in the 3rd round. If Tanny wants 30 + million make him earn it. If I thought he would be just as good in freezing weather and not get hurt I might give him the 30 million.

Most cold weather stadiums are open roof for a reason.
Gives their team an advantage vs qb's like Tanny.
The only reason I even give Tanny the $25 million tag is because the next 5 super bowls are in warm weather stadiums. But I still don't think Tanny gets by all the great cold weather teams in the playoffs unless we have the home field advantage through the playoffs.

I'm not a big fan of Jalen, but he is a magician at avoiding the pass rush and can at least run in the cold playoff weather when passing id difficult. Plus, I think his passing skills are and will continue to improve. A 3rd round pick worth the risk.

Plus, everyone talks of how he is a great person.

You’re signing a QB based on potential SB city weather?

Dude, it’s not like the Titans can just dictate the terms of a contract. You try the stuff you are suggesting and you get laughed at. The market is the market and you have to work with it. So you let Tanny go and he walks, so what do you do? You can draft a rookie cheap but any quality FA will want basically what you are not willing to pay Tannehill but is just as questionable if not more so. Maybe you get Brady and that might be an upgrade but risky at his age. Every option comes with risks and/or a significant price tag.

So if you let Tanny walk and don’t get Brady, what plan do you have that is better than Tanny?

And Dude, every super bowl is played in good weather or in doors. NYC was an exception and I do think the NFL makes that mistake again.

If those super bowls were played in Green Bay, Pittsburgh, New England, Kansas City, Chicago, I definitely wouldn't put all my eggs in the Tanny basket.
