Fascinating to see this. Without the three years post high school requirement, the XFL could be enticing to other top college players in a similar situation.

Robinson is leaving college after his sophomore season to do a year in the XFL training with ex-NFL players and coaches before becoming eligible for the NFL Draft next year. He’ll get paid 50k for the season and the XFL is paying for him to continue taking classes to get his degree.

The article is worth reading. If the XFL survives, this could be big news.

They should start recruiting the top HS players.

Get paid 50k a year and free education?

Start getting young talent and people will watch.

If I understand this correctly, he would be eligible for the NFL draft after one year in XFL?

Bet he makes less money that way.
Top NFL draft pick makes more than XFL obviously, but I have my doubt that being a potential high pick, then playing a year of XFL, would likely drop the pick value.

Unless I’m completely wrong and they are not eligible for the NFL draft after XFL, then I know they’re given up potentially a lot of money.

He’s eligible after one year in the XFL because he’s been in college two years already. After a season in the XFL he will reach the 3 years out of high school qualification for the NFL and be eligible for the draft.

I think his draft stick will rise or sink based on his year in the XFL and the combine.

People thought the same thing about the AFL. Next thing you know you've got college football players looking out of their rent free dorm filled with co-eds to a bunch of dudes who can't even get money for a bus ticket home.

For all the complaining everyone does about how unfair the NCAA is.. It's a free country. Anyone can start a business and entice 18-21 year olds to play in their league. No one has beaten the stipends and amenities the NCAA offers yet, and I doubt the XFL will be any different.

    No ****

That’s a living wage, exposure to the NFL and free education?

Why was this moved to Other Sports when it’s football and everything being discussed here directly influences the NFL?

Some of these options are already making an impact in the NBA, where it looks like Ball and Hampton could be top picks this year.
