i still don't know why you don't go after undrafted college kickers instead of the same rotating door of mediocre kickers that were cut

"this guy kicked 50% on his last team, maybe he'll be better here"

    ... ok

probably less than 5 teams a year need a kicker, you mean to tell me kicker #6 coming out of college is worse than proven scrubs?

Maher has been horrendous this yr....couldn’t believe the Cowboys didn’t cut him sooner.

The only way I would be ok with bringing him in is if we kept Succop for the short kicks and Maher for the long ones....he is one of a hand full of kickers who have made 3 60+ fgs in his career.

    I’d rather pick Parkey up....

We worked out Brett Maher today - clearly JRobs final message to Succop that one more flunk and you're gone.

Kentucky had a kid who was money from 50 yards and in 2 years ago. Nobody's given him a try. Just the revolving sucktitude of old guys

Anyone else think onside kicks would work better if they lined someone up who wasn’t a kicker to attempt them?

So I just went back as far the 1999 season to look up if there has ever been a historically worse kicker in the NFL, and unless you count some punters who only attempted one single FG attempt, Ryan Succop is re-writing history with a unbearable 16% FG percentage.

    16! :anon:

I can't imagine but couldn't have been worse than that attempt yesterday.

Here's what kills me... the Titans bring in a guy as big as a linebacker to kickoff the ball through the endzone and HE CAN'T FRIGGIN' DO IT more than once a game!

So why are we blowing a roster spot on the guy? Why not bring back Parkey who only doinked a XP and was consistently kicking the ball through the endzone back?

Even if you don't IR Succop, you have a guy who has enough leg to kick a FG over 40 yards and kick the ball into the endzone.

Yeah- we're seeing some ridiculous JRob pride. We cut Parkey too soon. Should not have brought Succup back. And def shouldn't have kept after he went 0 for 3. It's not like we're asking him to kick 50 yarders.

it makes zero sense to me, maybe JRob can’t swallow his pride and make the call to Parkey and admit he never should’ve cut him in the first place. I’m pretty sure since he’s unemployed he’d be happy to come back. It’s hard to say kicking cost us the game yesterday but it definitely cost us a chance at the end, and has cost us what 2-3 wins already. I don’t understand the loyalty to Succop at this point I belive Kern could make a field goal inside 40 yards and would be a better option. Or atleast let Santoso or whatever his name is attempt one while he’s on the roster.
