You mean a business is trying to protect themselves from the same guy who sued them and was rewarded millions despite absolutely no evidence to support his claims? The NFL nor any of the teams are stupid enough to give Kaepernick the power to harm them with his own narrative should he get benched again or cut for being a mediocre football player. They don't trust him, and his clown show on Saturday proved why.

why would you sign a waiver that waived your rights to things not related to the workout?

That's why he wanted a film crew. To film his "amazing" performance while wearing his stupid shirt , so when he doesn't get offered a job, he can continue his free ride with another suit against the NFL for indirect financial losses due to "blackballing". It worked once due to pubic ignorance, it will work again. The guy is a con artist. That's why the NFL wanted to cover all of their bases, not because they enjoy wasting their time holding down a backup QB.

Have you compared this against other waivers signed at combines and similar events?

Because the NFL could release to the public or Kaep anything they wanted if they're the only ones filming.

Why should Kaep trust the same entity who, he feels, screwed him over?

I'm no fan of Kaep and wish he'd go away but the NFL will cover chit up if given the chance.

According to the NFL, it was Nike with Colins approval who wanted to film.

Nike is making money from him being a martyr. That's their interest in this shenanigan.

But, and this is my only point, is this a different way that the nfl would handle any players filming of a workout/tryout?

Well, I don't know if the NFL films Pro Days or if the University the player is from can too.

But we do know the Combine is shown live with a ton of media present.
