Communications get turned off at 15 seconds on the play clock. Not many teams snapping the ball before then. Defenses know this all the same. Any major changes to the look they are giving is going to happen within those 15 seconds removing the OC help factor of “reading the defense” or making a change on the play.

When it matters most- the QB has to be able to decipher the defense alone, and make the required adjustments in protections and or play change.

 

False.....175....on 40 attempts...tom brady even threw a disgusting pick in the endzone against the bills....he played terribly but STILL won.

1. What you see out there is the product of your OC, ok? Lol That's the little secret that you need to pick up on. QBs resemble their play callers. Mariota is simply running the plays that he's given. The OC is seeing the field and Mariota has an ear piece. The formation, the blocking, the routes are designed plays. It is the OC's job to read defensive formations. The communication between OC to QB cuts off 15 seconds before the snap which gives the OC a visual of how the defense is set and he calls in the play prior to being cut off. Unless major adjustments by the defense occurs within 15 seconds of the playclock expiring there really is no reason to change the play.

Mariota is a better play caller anyway but it is impossible to really know how many times he has changed the play. All you can go on is the defensive read by the OC in determining what the play will be.

We see with Tannehill the same dreary, dreadful crud. The INT, the sacks, the incomplete passes, limited field of vision due to time restraints, the inability to sustain a drive, the failed 4th down conversion, lack of points, resorting to field goals and the inability to win convincingly. It's the same yucky performance we've been seeing. Do you see me blaming Tannehill like you blame Mariota? No, because I understand fully what's happening.

Do you honestly believe, feel, think that the OC has nothing to do with Mariota's inefficiency? My goodness, he and Vrabel are greenhorns for crying out loud. The reason Mariota looks like a high school QB who needs developement is because of Laurel & Hardy's inexperience. It has always been the case with the Titans ever since Mariota joined the team. You're seeing it play out on the field. Who put whip cream and a cherry on their heads and crowned them Mr Belichick and Mr. McDaniels? Have either Vrabel or Smith coached one single high school or college football game in their lives? It shows! What other personnel in this organization have skipped steps and are wearing shoes too big for their feet? I'm frustrated with the Titans and urge them to trade Mariota before the deadline. I cannot stand another game of this. However as long as Mariota, a Heisman winner and any other award you can think of is here, we need to stand beside him and not let those who are wet behind the ears strut on the sideline and ruffle his feathers.
