Oh yea because this franchise has such an amazing track record of developing QBs. We've never come close to producing an above average passing attack. Mariota failed but it wasn't all on him. This franchise deserves at the very least half of the blame. Stop acting like your **** dont stink.

Oh sure. This franchise sucks at player development. And I've gone on record more than once saying we did no favors with the coaching situation.

But frankly, I'm sick to freaking death of all the woe is Mary, I feel so bad for Mary, this franchise screwed Mary garbage. He got paid millions to do a job and he failed. He walks away rich, and we have to start over. We should all be so lucky.

4 OCs, 3 HCs and it's on us?

    Mary gets ppl fired

When a guy like Tannehill comes in and has none of the same problems the other guy had, it's not on everyone for that guys failures

Sure, Mariota has not played to his great potential, and at times has looked stiffer than a board, so in all fairness to him, we need to include Vrabel, all OCs and other coaches that worked with Mariota as being "bust bars" and "abysmal" as well. What makes them so "not to blame" that we would overlook their inefficiencies?

Mariota is considered to have regressed but I don't know how it's possible for a QB and a QB alone to regress unless he had a little help from the demons in his ear.

If Mariota receives a play to run with the ball to the opponents endzone and jump up & down until he's tackled, and he does so, should we blame him, only? If he's told to pass the ball without an adequate supply of blockers some six consecutive times and on the sixth attempt gets sacked, fumbles and the opponent runs it in for a TD, do we blame him, only? Also shxtty formations and sets where a 3rd down is dead in the water. blame him, only? I think much or all of the blame should be on the one that told him to do that. What? We're gonna turn a blind eye to this?

Mariota should have refused to play for a team unless he was happy with the experience and success of the coaching staff because dimwits can ruin his career. But it's all about da money, we know that.

Coaches rarely point the finger at themselves but anybody that knows something about the game will tell you that it takes at least two to tango. If you don't believe that, just ask Tom Brady if he would have been successful without the wits of Bill Bellichick. He would tell you that he couldn't have done it without him.

It's two or three people working together that makes a QB look good. Two or three becoming one. If the QB goes down they all go down. So there are other @$$e$ to fry here for Mariota's offensive woes.

The other people you’re blaming (outside the current tandem) have all been held accountable. That’s why they’re not coaching with the titans anymore.

Mariota himself (just like any other QB in the league) always has the option to read a defense and change the play. Since he can’t read a defense he doesn’t ever do this.
None of what you said explains his inability to let go of the ball. He learned to improve his fumbling issue so well that he just doesn’t want to give up the rock so he just takes sacks over and over and over. That’s all Mariota. I have no doubt that all of his coaches passed on telling him “don’t ever throw the ball. Just hold it as long as you can.”

This... I think he could've been serviceable-to-above average if he had gone to a team that cares about developing players.

And we never will until this franchise takes a long look at itself and decides to develop players.

Yes, it is... until this team becomes a legit development team, we will never have a good drafted QB.

Well it's not his job. The OC is fully in control of each and every play. Even changing the play at the line of scrimmage. How? The QB has an ear piece. Any and all changes are made by the OC, that's his job. So you're blaming Mariota for bad reads? Mmnnn. I think you're not the only one.

Again it's the incompetence by the OC to change the play at the line of scrimmage. He doesn't know a blitz from a hole in the ground. That's why Mariota looks so bad. If Mariota were calling the plays he would burn those linebackers but unfortunately he's got to listen to his coach and that's why he doesn't have enough time to throw the ball and gets sacked all the time. I would imagine the OC rats to the HC that Mariota is regressing and so he gets benched. That's a good thing not a bad thing. Lol

    Pray for Tannehill.
