I have concerns about this... fear he's coming in too soon.

I dont like it either. I just dont see why you risk what you would hope to be a key piece of the future. Especially knowning when you drafted him he was injured and needed the recovery time.

8 months of hard work and recovery, Dr says he's good, he feels ready, and he is performing well enough to earn a spot on the field. No reason to stop him from competing if he wants to.

I really don’t get all the concern. If he can play, he can play. A setback, and we’ll be waiting until next season anyway. I guess there’s potential for something even more long term, but you could say that about any player on the field.

    The concern?
Previous examples (at least what it looks like) MM, beat to crap and seems to play more and more timid each year.
Conklin, appears he never really recovered from his injury. All-pro to OL liability.

    Just a couple recent examples.
I’m not for shielding the guy but I think timelines are generated off some previous experience but also, does the team need him?
I say yes if fully healthy but no if he’s just rotational without filling knowing Pees’s gameplans due to lack of practice.

He’d be good in a limited rotation but Daquan has been playing excellent so it’s not urgent or anything. Can never have enough pass rushers.

I think Conklin has looked better this season than last. Not all pro, but I think he’s looked better than the rest of the line, in my opinion, and I realize that isn’t saying much. But that isn’t the point anyway. If Conklin sat ALL of last season, would he better than he is today? None of us know that.

These guys are football players. Injuries are going to happen. Mariota’s problems were going to show up eventually because he was always going to get hurt at some point. This is football.

If he's healthy and can rush the passer from the middle you play him. The AFC is very very average. If we can get just average quarterback play, we can get some AFC wins.

I'm thinking it'd ideally be Casey-Jones-Simmons for our base.
