Who starts next week prediction

I've been thinking this for a long time. There are so many holes to fill on this team, that by the time those holes are filled, other holes will emerge. It seems we will never have enough drafts/free agency players to become an elite team.

 

I've started to wonder if this is the case, since we've had three straight top 10 picks at QB not work out. Either we're the worst drafting team ever or this team isn't able to develop players no matter how many coaching staffs they bring in.

 

You’re right. But we had a “king’s ransom” of picks to provide a solid foundation. That’s the foundation of our problem.

 

Completely agree, we had three, 2nd round picks and Henry is the only one we've gotten production out of. I don't think J-Rob gets nearly enough criticism for the Kevin Dodd and Austin Johnson picks, especially with who was left on the board.

 

Every draft pick could be elite... but I honestly believe none would continue as elite here due to no development.

This organization expects a player to be able to play out the gate.

 

Or the pick we gave up to move up and get Conklin. People say he’s not the same since the injury- but the injury can only be forgiven for the time he was away. He should be back to full speed. I think he had the benefit of running 3 TE sets his rookie year.

 

That’s because 1st round picks are EXPECTED (save QB’s) to contribute across the league.

 

If I were Amy, I’d insist JRob go hire this guy as an exclusive scout. Go with an unsigned check. (Not Herndon, but the scout).

 

But it goes beyond the QB position.

This team doesn't develop any players.

 

Honestly, it was pretty obvious that Young, Locker, and Mariota weren’t going to cut it in the NFL. Those were desperation picks. Just chose the wrong years to need a “top QB”.
