Not disagreeing. His stuff arm is deadly and speed for his size, but he's a one trick pony. Outside, outside, wildcat(runs to the outside.) Yes he has had good runs inside but not consistently enough.

 

His performances will only get better now with Lewan back. Thank goodness.

 

Henry was drafted in 2016, which makes him in the final year of his rookie deal right?

Im also pretty sure Lewis' deal was structured like most of Jrob's, a 2 year deal disguised as a 3-4 year deal.

So I reckon next year we cut Lewis, give Henry a 2nd contract (health and form permitting), and draft a complementary back in the 2nd-4th round - a lot of teams have had success drafting here in the past few years.

This is who Derrick Henry is. It's who he has always been. He's great a with 2-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter. He's useless the other 3/4 of the game.

He has a role. That role should not be as a lead back.

 

Henry is great. Always has been. You give him right around 20 touches and he always delivers. He's our running back for the next decade. Mariota needs to step up and match it.

 

Next decade?

Most RBs don’t last a whole decade. If he gets a 2nd contract, he will probably start to decline 2-3 years into it.
