Maybe but the VAST majority of people don't know either on of them personally. And when has the court of public opinion EVER cared about the truth of the matter.

We're in a milieu of political correctness in which being a victim is given the highest favor and advantage. Ms. Taylor is astronomically more likeable than AH AB. And her allegations champion a current hot topic ("Me Too"). Whether it was consensual or not doesn't matter. Whether her version is factually correct is irrelevant. The league doesn't care about the truth. The Patriots don't care about the truth. They've got a serious image problem to resolve. The league additionally has to resolve the perception that the Pats always get special favors. Kraft tarnished the shield with his BJ episode. Nothing happened there. Now the Pats signed a guy with known rape allegations against him (according to Rosenhaus's statement "we anticipated these charges coming"). That's a LOT to attempt to dispose.

I don't see how this goes away for AB, the Pats or the NFL unless they take some form of action against AB. Even if it falls under the "Protect the Shield" mantra that Goodell so furiously spouted and touted years ago. Anybody remember that was how the league rationalized penalizing players for "conduct detrimental" before the legal system did? It won't be long before the victim's rights groups bring that league precedent discrepancy into the media spotlight.

The NFL dodged a bullet by having AB act a clown while the Chiefs signed Hill. League isn’t going to want to face this, especially with how high profile he’s made himself.

I doubt this goes well for AB, they aren’t going to want to deal with this. AB brought most of this on himself, the absurdity of the past week is enough for him to lose any sort of support from anyone who could/wanted to help him.

He’s ****ed, whether he’s innocent or not.

This isnt a criminal suit, NFL lets civil suits play out before acting I think...

I think you are right, but I highly doubt the NFL is gonna let him do much of anything if they have their way

NFL seems to be more laxed now knowing they have to negotiate a new CBA here in a year or so. But they do love prematurely punishing players so we'll see.

I read somewhere that the upcoming CBA could force Roger Goodell out as commissioner. I will state that I only read the headline not the article. Ill try to find it
