Not because I had faith in mettenberger but I didn’t want mariota or Winston (or any other QB) in that draft.
We missed on a dominant D Line by passing on Williams.
We can see what the Texans do with a DLine and no QB.

Came across this cool video about the 2010 Chargers:

The relevance (and why I chose this thread to post it) is the stats presented in the video.
This team, based by yardage gained/allowed, is the only team since the merger to be #1 in offensive yardage and #1 in defensive yardage.
Statistically speaking they were the best team that year by far and yet missed the playoffs. Not by an overwhelming TO margin (-6) but thanks to ST.

Unbelievable to think about how many jokes were made about JRob and his ST players signings when you can see an example like this team. They very much had a SB contending roster and even proved it week in and week out statistically with the exception of ST, which cost them multiple games.

Coincidently, the video also references the first ever QB to start 10 games and lose all 10. Brodie Croyle beat Mettenberger to the one stat he’s famous for around here.

#Titans WRs averaged a touchdown every 26.5 receptions (159 Rec/6 TDs) last season -- second-worst in NFL and nearly twice as bad as the NFL average of 13.3.

    Per - pk

This is why I hate PK.

This is a “no ****” stat.

MM threw 11 TDS last season, no **** the WRs aren’t going to be catching TDs at a high rate.

This is why ESPN fired you.

I'd have to disagree that it's a bad stat. It removes the variable of volume, so you can compare receivers based on how many touchdowns they're getting per reception rather than just comparing total numbers.

If our receivers catch half as many TD's as the number 1 offense, but are doing it on 1/3 fewer catches, that means they're being less productive with each catch than their peers.

Marcus' TD/attempt stat is abysmal for the past two years too. So not only does he throw less than other QB's, he's less effective when he does.
