    Ouch...

To be fair, Mariota was arguably the best red zone QB during sharpe's rookie season, and he's been one the worst since Davis entered the league

Should be interesting to see a starting lineup with Davis, Sharpe, Hump, Delanie and Henry though. Sharpe could be the one left open A LOT and he is always where he’s supposed to be.

I’ll give him that. He is a solid route runner and has good hands. Albeit slow and doesn’t do much after the catch, but we may not need that much with him. Could be a good possession guy. I don’t trust Mariota though. I really hope he proves me wrong.

Reason we suck with Sharpe is due to our QB throwing short of the sticks

Sharpes skillset works in other systems, here he is very uninspiring

Corey Davis is easily a 1K receiver anywhere else basically. We will pound the rock day in and day out and not throw much as always. I love a solid run game, but an effective pass game needs to coexist with it. Our pass game is legit non existent, and every defense knows it.

Everything that has happened during this off season has pointed towards us passing the ball more but let's also understand the circumstances that happened in the past.
    Hiring Mike Mularkey as HC
2 seasons with Robiskie as OC.
Laundry list of WRs that never panned out.
    Mariota's health

At first running the ball was our identity but I believe last year we had every intention of shifting towards a more effective passing attack but Mariota gets hurt in 1st game.

Makes sense. I also think they aren’t 100% confident in his abilities to pass the ball. I’m not trying to make a Mary bash fest threads, but he can’t be missing wide open guys and he does still. 5 years deep. Either he won’t see the open receiver, or he will throw it and you’re scratching your head like WTF?! I think we throw less to limit mistakes and turning it over too quickly. I love run heavy, but I kinda hope we toss the rock a bunch this year just to see the difference good or bad.

This year they HAVE to be. They HAVE to see what they have with Mariota, and if it doesnt work, Tanny is there. I could see them calling 30 pass plays a game for Mariota right out the box. Can't hold back. If he flourishes, great. If he flounders, they have possibly the best backup in the league.

Titans will air it out with mariota, either he sinks or swims. It’s that simple.
