I realize Sharpe has let us all down, but if he was putting it all together, finally, it would be silly to just let him ride the bench because we have a promising young rookie. I think it's weird how people tie draft position to ceiling and floor that a player can play at. I'm not sure that's what is happening here, but I've seen that a lot. Can't get caught up in that.

All that said, I could see them both start a lot of games. I think they will both play a lot. I wouldn't get hung up on who got to play the first snap.

One win can mean the difference between making the playoffs or not. AJ gives us the best chance in the long run, but Sharpe is better prepared for game one.

Taj hasn't gotten better since being drafted

That's exactly why he fell to the 5th rd. He was as polished as hed get coming out of college

Mary isn’t an anticipatory thrower, he has to see guys open to let it go. Therefore he’d be waiting that much longer to see where AJ comes out of his break and where he moves in order to throw it. Experience with Sharpe matters

    Cmon guys

That experience didnt come in to play last week on the safety sack. Sharpe just sitting around while the CB cuts his route off making Mary hold it too long

Sharpe's problem is he is slow. Not forty time slow, but in-game slow. He doesn't separate well enough. He doesn't run by anyone. He honestly should only be used on 3rd downs because that's where he excels. Brown has breakout potential. He needs the reps.

You mean like the ultra athletic Corey Davis? The problem isn’t with these WRs, it’s with Mary floating balls or waiting until guys are open allowing DBs to make plays.

How did a which receiver should we start turn into bashing the qb?

We’re we assuming a 2 or 3 wr offense? If it’s 2...I start Davis and Hump and mix in AJ. If It’s 3 I start Davis and AJ on the outside and Hump in the slot. Sharp is not a #1 or #2 wr so I don’t start him unless I need to.

My 3 Receiving options are Davis Hump and Walker. We’ll get AJ and Taylor involved too but those are the four wr’s I play when everyone is healthy.

I would hope we develop AJ to the point where we can stay in 3 wr the majority of the time like the Rams do to give us more favorable run options.

Only problem I have with this is starting Hump in 2wr sets. I prefer for Hump to work primarily in the slot. That's why I see us shifting to more 3wr sets.

I have a feeling Hump's going to be playing all over the place. Outside on 2 WR sets and inside on 3 WR sets. I'm hoping he turns into a safety net like DW.
