There is a reason we can’t open up this offense with multiple coordinators, coaches, players, etc. I’ll give you a hint: It’s not just the receivers....lol

Um...so if this season, Mariota produces 22 TD's and 8 INT's and 3800yards...you'd happily sign him as you'd happily sign Dak?

Adding rushing stats doesn’t help Mariota’s case if you add Prescott’s.
Like last year, 4100, 28 TD then.
Prescott avg 300 and 6 rushing TD. Although he does have the fumbling problem Mariota had and seemed to correct.

Mariota's ceiling heading in 2019: no team in the NFL has more wins against winn ing team's than the Titans since 2016, a direct reflection of the greatness we have at QB, if this is bad I can't wait to see what happens when line isn't ranked in bottom 7 of NFL and WR 's lead the NFL in dropped TD passes.

They are pretty similar qb's...though it's hard to discount that Prescott has one of the best OL's in the NFL and one of the best rb's too.

But let's see how they compare when you normalize their passing stats...and by that I mean attempts. When I boost Mariota's attempts to the same as Prescott, they are pretty close.

Mariota would have thrown for just over 4k (without rushing yards) and over 19 TD's and 13 INT's...21 TD's and 15 turnovers. Prescott's is better at 28 and 14...but Mariota had a higher completion percentage, more yards and a higher first down %. I didn't watch the Cowboys a lot so I don't know if Prescott missed some TD's on his stat sheet on terrible dropped passes....but I know Mariota lost out on some perfect throws.

So if you keep in mind Prescotts superior talent surrounding him last year (OL and RB especially) and several dropped TD's...they look like comparable guys. They had pretty close QBR's as well this season.

The question for me is, how would Mariota look on Dallas vs Prescott playing on the Titans last year. I think Mariota would have outperformed him.

So it's pretty interesting that some pundits think signing Prescott is a slam dunk (for 27-30mil/yr) but don't think Mariota will get another contract with us.

Mariota will get his chance to prove it this year. If we can get the kind of play we got from Kelly late at RT and with Saffold and anyone better than Kline at RG, we'll have a very solid OL. Prescott's line is still better...but we should be pretty solid.

With Walker back (and crossing our fingers he stays healthy) and the top 4 wr's in our receiving room...Mariota now has better weapons to throw to than Prescott.

If Henry can beast out all year like he did last December...I'd call this a wash but most importantly, Mariota will have a strong run game to lean on and cause major problems for the defense!

For people like me who point out pretty big discrepancies in surrounding talent level (available...we had a lot of guys hurt last year) and wonder what if...we can see that this year with all of the changes. Mariota SHOULD have the OL, RB and weapons to throw to. If Smith keeps the same system as expected, virtually every excuse will be taken off the books and he'll be in his best position to shine. We need him to shine if we want to win playoff games and the Super Bowl!

Mariota has a losing record as a starter.

See what happens when you don’t cherrypick stats?

And yet we are always at or near .500. must mean we have lots of losses to losing teams.

Almost like we have a consistency issue.

Either you just make blanket statements to just try and paint broad poor pictures...or you're seriously mis-informed.

Let's look at the PREMIUM money spent at all the positions around Mariota.

    LT - check
    LG - NEGATIVE
    OC - NEGATIVE
    RG - NEGATIVE
    RT - NEGATIVE

    1/5 on the OL

    #1 WR - NEGATIVE
    #2 WR - NEGATIVE
    #3 WR - NEGATIVE

    0/3 at WR

    #1 TE - check
    #2 TE - NEGATIVE

    1/2 at TE

    #1 RB - NEGATIVE
    #2 RB - NEGATIVE

    0/2 at RB

Wow!!!! I can see where you get your info. Of the 12 players playing around Mariota, 2/12 are getting premium dollars and one of those two was hurt all year.

It's about time we brought in some help for him...and we still didn't break the bank. We added Saffold and are paying him premium bucks. We added Humphries...who is NOT making premium money for a wr (there's like 26 wr's ahead of him).

So it looks like we are up to 3/12 players getting paid premium bucks around Mariota. Let's see what he does with them!

But your basic premise was completely wrong!

ROFLMAO!!! Brady, Luck, Rodgers, Luck and Mahomes throw to nobodies? Maybe you've never heard of Julian Edelman or Wes Welker or Randy Moss or Gronkowski...but I HAVE!!!

Didn't Rodgers have guys like Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams...probably more. Ever heard of them?

You never heard of TY Hilton and Reggie Wayne? They may end up being Hall of Fame wr's!

Oh yeah...and that Mahomes guy has nobody...oh...except Kelce - arguably the best TE in the NFL and the most dangerous wr in Hill!

Yeah...no names that every has heard of except you!

Epic fail #2 for you in this post!

And let's go for the trifecta, shall we?

Who are the all pro players surrounding Mariota? Clearly I'd guess you mean Walker (who was hurt the whole season...so can't get stats outta him), Conklin (who didn't really play like an all pro his rookie season but got voted in. But did he even play like an AVG RT last year? Not at all. He wasn't ok to play and got beat all the time), and Lewan who played very well? Who is the 4th all pro? But clearly you're using this label to mislead as Conklin couldn't have blocked Brave last year and Walker was hurt.

Wow...talk about skewing stats and making stuff up!!! That was a doozy of a post of lies!

Except the supporting cast got worse last year, not better!

Let's start with the OL. What talent was added to it from the previous season? NONE. How did they perform compared to the previous season...much worse! And to be fair, I'm not counting sacks that Mariota ran into or got caught scrambling behind the line against them. But Lewan was the only one who had a nice season. Both of our OG's played much worse and were only outdone on the negative side by Conklin who played at a backup level and clearly wasn't right. Jones too had his worst year in a long time leading the league in sacks at his position.

Do you dispute any of this? I didn't think so!

Let's see, on paper we would have had no newcomers in the wr room who would have made a difference and Mariota would have had CD, Matthews, Taylor as his top 3 targets...but Matthews quit the team forcing Taylor to move up to #2. CD played better than the previous year and Taylor got better...but his production was much worse than Matthews the year before and same with our slot. 1 player better, 2 players worse.

Even worse was TE where Walker...his favorite wr...got hurt and was out for the year. TE production and play was way down.

So while we added some nice prospects, the players on the field were less talented or played like it.

Top 10 in what? Even if that WAS the case (though I don't remember anyone saying this)...Matthews quit in the first month so...

Again, I shine the light on your...alternative 'facts' and they don't stand up!
