Manny Lawson wasn't a superstar or anything, but he started most of his 10 year career for some pretty good defenses with the 49ers, Bills, Bengals.

I always tried to pick him up on Madden because he was so fast.

    4.53.

That size, speed, production pretty much ensures he'll be a first round pick. Probably went from a top-45 player to a top-25 player.

This combine is exactly why you don’t talk draft until after it’s finished.....

I like Smith, but his size will probably scare teams off...also has short arms which isn't good for a pass rusher.

Brian Burns certainly made himself some money this weekend. With his length and speed he would be a great fit for us at OLBer

I thought Sweat would have a chance to make it to us before the combine, but now I think he will be off the board....crazy speed for a guy his size and he has 35 and 3/4" arms which is really long.

Im thinking edge rusher is gonna be the pick. Most of the edge rushers in free agency already spoken for now.

Is JR gonna spend top dollar for Trey Flowers or zadarius? prob not considering the draft offers the same ability for half the price.

just my pre free agency thoughts on OLB's

I'm thinking that an impact DT to help Casey with the inside push is the way to go in the draft....I just don't see that impact DT in FA unless we go for a guy like Suh or Richardson, but I don't think they are JR/Vrabel type of guys.

From a positional cap money standpoint we have a bunch of money to invest in the Edge/OLBer position....currently we have a 3.2mil cap hit this year in Landry,Correa, and Finch....we could easily give a big contract to Flowers or Smith...and that is what I hope we do....get a true starter in FA then hit the draft in the 2nd or 3rd rnd for another Edge guy

The list of FA OLbers/Edge guys is interesting....you could go with an old guy for spot pass rush duty in Suggs/ Wake/Matthews/Irvin or a younger guy like Fowler, Ezekial Ansah, Shane Ray, Vinny Curry.....non of these guys listed would I want to have to play starter reps....but I bet a few of these guys will come cheap

just so you know JR went after Suh pretty hard last year, but LA had the better chance to win so he went there..
