Rams Saints hit

    This is in reference to the game changing penalty during the Saints Rams game that was never called. Clearly, two refs saw the play as they were seen on camera. One ref on the sideline was no more than 15 feet away when the penalty was made. There was an early hit AND a possible helmet to helmet hit.
    I am only assuming that the Rams Coleman hit Saints Lewis because Coleman knew that he got burned and hit Lewis to prevent a TD. There's no other reason, that I can think of, why Coleman would blatantly do that. That's my thinking.
    The refs changed the outcome of the game. I am assuming that these refs are the better 'crews' amoung the refs, it only makes sense.
    With all that said, was it Coach Belichick that said, during the coaches conference, that the coaches should have the right to challenge ALL calls made (or missed) by the refs?
    With the coaches only allowed to challenge twice during a game with the possibility of a third, what is wrong with Belichicks proposal?

    Coleman admitted hitting him before the ball got there because he was trying to prevent a potential TD.

    The ref that was close enough to make the call and was looking right at it should be fired. No questions asked. There is zero excuse he can come up with upon reviewing the film to excuse that.

    Personally I think the game has become too fast for most of the officials on the field to make these calls and they are going to have to either add officials to each crew to spread things out or they have to have a video official who can make calls upon either the camera angle during the live event or upon video review, especially for such blatant misses as that one.

    I think other missed/made calls should fall under that review as well...there were some face masks that were not called on the Saints and that ridiculous roughing the passer call on KC when Jones arm whiffed by Brady's helmet.

    Nice to know but BS on all accounts. Not only will nothing be done except an apology, this isn’t the game to try instituting rules that have no precedence in modern football.

    If these rules were ever to be used, it would be used on a regular season game or even preseason before the commish ever over turning or replaying a championship decider.

    That will continue regardless of SB outcome. The town is a Laker town, then either Trojans or dodgers. Add the angels and the rams are far down the list of teams to half-a$$ fanhood for.

    Chargers will be gone soon. Since SD shunned them and rivers about to retire soon, I give them a decade before the rumors of relocation start.

    This is going to lead to the rule change about reviewing some penalties but as per every single time before where a penalty was missed/incorrectly enforced, nothing about that game will be changed.

    Saints, welcome to the list of championship teams robbed, 01’ Raiders, 79’ Oilers, and I’m sure others.
