I think long term....you are correct.
Mularkey did some good things given the situation.....taking over during the season, being despised by much of the fanbase, etc. Whether people want to admit it or not....he was a big part of the culture change and other positive things. Easier schedule, more talent/less talent...doesn't matter. He had the first winning record in quite some time (after a 3 win season), went to the playoffs and won a game there. Players loved him and people who dealt with him in the city liked him. He is gone.....No need to dance on his grave, Vrabel will be a really good coach (if he loses a little of the player mentality.) I'm just ready for an OC and the draft.

Our SOS averaged out to 8ish wins per team, that doesn't seem to be that menacing to me?

I'm pretty sure 10 of our 16 games were against playoff teams. I doubt many teams had more than that. That's a difficult schedule.

Just looking now at a few other teams,

Pats only had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.
Chiefs only had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.
Saints only had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.
Rams had 8/16 games vs playoff teams.
Chargers had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.
Texans only had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.
Ravens only had 3/16 games vs playoff teams!
Colts only had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.
Bears only had 5/16 games vs playoff teams.

Idk, I'm going team by team and I'm starting to realize probably nobody faced as many playoff teams as the Titans. Not even close.

We did damn good with 1/3 of our starters out for the season with one of the hardest schedules in the NFL with a rookie staff.
