2019 Titans Cap, Cuts, FAs, and Extensions

At least cj actually produced from the moment he stepped on the field.

Henry did very little for 3.5 years, then started beasting when he realized he was about to wash out of the league.

 

We definitely need to resign vaccaro, but cutting cyp with as much cap space isn't smart, imo. If we need the space for anything im down, but if we have the room, we should keep him. With us having vaccaro and byard starting, it gives us a good backup (which we needed this year) and a versatile guy we can play as a 5th/6th db or a lb in different looks. I can see pees getting the best out of a s like cyp. Secondly we need to keep byard and ryan around for another couple years, so I'd get that done. I'd wait until at least week 6 to extend conk, mm8 or henry. Lets see how they look before we make any decisions on those guys. They have all been way to inconsistent to extend yet, imo.

 

If we keep cyp, and resign conk, byard, Ryan, henry, AND, Mariota, then thats it. We are pretty much cap screwed for the foreseeable future.

 

Top 3 in the league? No way.
Henry had an awesome season down the stretch. I don’t see that sustained for a whole season and nothing about our offense points out expectations of him having anything more than a ceiling of about 11-1200.
The most important thing he does is punch it in the EZ. I don’t know if that’s worth an extension

 

Or coached better. Even if it was EG’s word of advice, mentorship is not necessarily a wake up call that you’ll be out of the league.
I just dont think that view is really fair to Henry. Nothing prior to his coming out party shows that he wasn’t putting in effort or being lazy, just doing things incorrectly.

 

You do realize he was 7th in rushing this season with significantly less work than he’s likely going to get next year and half the season he was used poorly when he was even used. This season third in rushing was under 1300 yards, though that deserved an * due to Gurley missing the last 2 games. If we hadn’t been pass happy early against Indy he probably gets close to 1100 this past season.

 

Henry has never really been given a fair shake here, first Murray took all the carries, then it was Dion Lewis .Almost every time they pound Henry, the results are great. For some reason we're the only team that invests a high pick on a back and doesn't feature them

 

Yep, CJ was my fav player for 5 years, but even I can recognize we should have never paid him for past play. His best days were behind him and I wouldn't even extend Henry next off-season for a crazy 8mil+ a year deal unless he busts out 1500+ this year. That is literally the only way it could possibly be beneficial for the team.

 

equate it to his carries, on top of that poor oline play. When he gets actual RB1 touches he produces. Playcalling doesnt help much either when everything is predictable. Its soo much deeper than “YPC” i cant count how many times DH has been hit in the backfield before the play even manifested

 

agree with 1, but you absolutely pay money if the RB is great. Having a reliable good RB is actually harder to find then people think. But DH isnt that yet.
