    If this is the case, it's not going to be a deal anything close to what Mariota wants and something along the lines of what Bortles received.

    I think it's much more likely he has a "prove-it" '19 and, if they think he's the answer, will do it the following off-season and use the franchise tag if needed in '20.

    After '19, you have contracts for Henry, Conklin and Byard (going by memory) which will make things interesting for JRob.

    There are thousands of PSL owners who will be deciding whether or not to purchase season tickets based on the moves JRob makes the next couple of months.

    if people were still buying tickets when we were trotting out 2-14 seasons the difference in PSL sales after extending the QB would be negligible

    unless Jrob constantly looks at twitter for opinions it wouldnt matter whatsoever

    You understand how PSLs work, right? You purchase season tickets or lose your PSL. These are long-time fans who follow the team closely.

    Many did leave during those lean years. You used to never hear/see the Titans advertising to sell tickets. Now, it's the norm. Many factors weigh in on that but the biggest is the quality of play on the field.

    I know how they work, if fans are gonna sell their PSLs after the best winning record stretch in TN franchise history then... my statement of the fans here being the worst stands.

    I really doubt AAS and the bigwigs see MM as someone the fans hate so they should hesitate to resign based on that, I'm sure he's easily the highest merch seller on the team.

    If Jrob thinks extending him is a good move he will do it, regardless of what we believe fan perception to be. (note: i dont think he will extend him this year, nor should he)

    Titans dont get all the revenue from Mariota merchandise. Every team gets 1/31 of every NFL sale thats not sold on team property. So only jerseys sold at the Titans pro shop are all theirs to keep. Anything sold thru other vendors have to split the revenue 31 ways.

    If he extended Mariota with anything more than a Bortles deal, there would be thousands of PSL owners who would walk away.

    JRob would look incompetent.

    Remember the fallout when Mularkey was hired as HC? I do. Many of the fans I'd seen around me since '99 were gone. And that was only a HC.
