No, not a 3rd, I was exaggerating. But a 1st absolutely, and possibly a 2nd if it isnt too late.

Hes broken, and only average when hes not broken. Give me an early 2nd rounder to build this team up with, grab a quality FA QB, and draft a QB at 19 or with one of our two 2nds.

Fat fingered the button. Meant to be boring because of the exaggeration.

Average puts him at 16th best starting QB in the league. What has he done to show hes above average when healthy besides flashes a few games and a few highlight plays here and there? Also, the broken part is the bigger issue, and I'm now convinced that will always be a problem.

mariotas problem is he plays either above average, or below average. which yes would make his stats average, but not him. to call him average while not broken would be an incorrect statement, considering the rest of the offense has performed well below average for the last 2 seasons. The last time he had Delanie, a healthy Murray (an actual RB), and Rishard Matthews he threw 26 and 9 for 3.4k. Sure thats no excuse for him being ass the last two years. BUT, with an actual competent offense he is above average. Can't say that for most other QBs in the league currently.

The season you are referring to, 2016, this is where Marcus ranked amongst QBs.

    Passing yards - 23rd
    Passing TDs - 12th
    Ints - 12th
    Qb rush yards - 7th
    Qb rush TD - 15th

We can split hairs here, but that's by far his best season and it's at best slightly above average. That's Marcus' ceiling and I'm not confident he can reach it with any consistency due to health.

ceiling? absolutely not. he has improved at the deep ball since he was drafted, as well the 10-20 yard pass as well. His biggest problem is he's become way to Antsy in the pocket due to all the hits he has taken (majority from bad OL, and some from holding the ball too long). No Titan receiver helps Marcus' numbers out with YAC, and Corey Davis is probably the most consistent option at WR we've had in decades and they haven't played a season together where both of them were healthy. He excels in the play action and without a running game a big part of his dynamic is taken away. the 2nd part i agree with 100% though. no one knows the truth of his nerve situation so he might not ever reach his ceiling.

So you admit that to this point he has been either average or hurt. Where we disagree is that he can be better than what we have seen in the past 4 years.
