CFP National Championship: Bama vs. Clemson GDT

At least Bama played last night.

 

Did they though?

 

I mean yeah, they had over 31 minutes of possession and 443 yards. Just got stuffed or made sloppy mistakes when it mattered. Shyt happens. Better than getting your guts run through by a 6-6 team.

 

44-16 on the national stage.

Wouldn’t be so bad if the narrative hadn’t been pushed that Tua was possibly the greatest college QB ever and that this Bama team was unbeatable.

 

Saying they're unbeatable is dumb. I mean it's easily the best offense they've had but the defense has been an issue all year. Just hasn't been noticeable from running the score up early.

I know everyone hates Bama and wants to get their shots in. That's fine. Enjoy it.

 

It’s mostly ESPN and CBS’s fault. It’s the constant build up of Bama and the SEC as being on another level though most knowledgeable cfb fans know that is completely inaccurate. People are just tired of the bull****.

 

Is it really inaccurate? 9 NCs since 2006? Only one natty that didn't have an SEC team, and multiple natties that had 2 SEC teams... The narrative didn't invent itself.

And Bama has won 5 NCs in 10 years. Again, not just some fake news narrative.

If you want to hate the SEC and be sick of Bama, that's fine, but let's not pretend the "hype" is unfounded.

 

Much easier to win NCs when the BCS gave auto bids to the SEC.

Take a look at the first year of the playoffs. If it was the BCS, it would have been Bama vs FSU. Bama would have beat them and claimed another NC. The playoff era has leveled it back out at least somewhat. 2 for the SEC, 2 for the ACC, and 1 for the B1G. I don’t see any dominant conference.

ESPN narrative was that Georgia belonged in the playoffs. Clearly the 2nd best team behind Bama. WHOOPS.
