Should The Titans Make A Play For AB?

If you watched him these last 2 years and want to defend keeping him then I cant say anything to you

The guy has been awful lately

 

First time we’ve had 3 straight winning seasons. Made some noise in the playoffs last year. When’s the last time we did that?

We are finally moving in the right direction. Now isn’t the time to blow that up.

And how do you know his replacement will be better? I mean we’ve seen what worse looks like as Titans fans and know it’s very easy to find worse.

 

That's what I said earlier this year too.

Then Marcus got hurt, again..

He was 7-6 as a starter, so yes you can do a lot worse. But there is also a heck of a lot of room to get better too.

NFL GMs tend to play it safe and stay with such QBs, but I'm simply at that point where I wouldn't be mad with a QB change. If we keep him then we better be sure we get a better backup

 

I agree we need a better backup QB. But if you think this team goes 9-7 with Blaine Gabbert you’re insane.

Hell I don’t know any backup QB’s not named Nick Foles that could do better than that.

 

I am not as high on Mariota as I was, given the injuries and inconsistent play. However, I am a realist and I know that a lot of it is on crappy coaching and poor roster. I remember being very ready to ditch Moon and they went out and got him OL and receivers and then he was fantastic. I am open minded enough to let him earn my trust/loyalty next season under his option year. But if there isn’t marked improvement, I would be ready to move on. I am not, however, going be a mopey crap bag about it and pretend that I also haven’t seen some amazing play out of him. Let next year be the final arbiter and then he can be sentenced.

 

9-7 with Gabbert lol, that's insane. Of course no one expects that out of Gabbert.

The real trouble is 9-7 is exactly what Mariota delivers every season. Thats just not good enough, as we can now see.

3 winning seasons with 1 playoff visit really negates the 3 winning seasons part.

What good is 9-7 if it’s not good enough to reach the post season.

When Mariota reaches 3 straight 10+ win seasons and at least 1 home playoff game, then we can really start talking about how “good” he is.
