Simply because this section of the Forum has been dead since 6/22 lol.....

Post your pre CFB season players you'll be watching closely.

Assuming I'm wrong about Harold Landry, and he proves to be the real deal and ready for the change of the guard next year --- I want an EDGE first round.

    Brian Burns - Florida State
    Chase Winovich - Michigan
    Josh Allen - Kentucky

And as an aside.. would be interesting to see Nick Bosa lol --- but I pray we are no where near even trading range to get him lol...

    Early mocks say OLB

Idk that we need to go OLB if we keep one of Rak or Morgan after their deals expire this year

But this defense lives and dies thru its LBs so I'd support OLB two drafts in a row

Pass rushers are important, and even with Landry, you can never have enough. I am down with OLB, DE, etc. I think we may be looking at Safety, Tight End, and WR at some point as well depending on how this year pans out.

We aren't the Browns.. We don't have to discuss the next draft before the season starts..

I can't see with as big a contract as those two have, and already having 1 OLB (performance to be seen) in pocket -- and their injury history.... either of them getting a final deal.

JROB wants Youth at the EDGES it seems.

I guess it depends on what they are asking etc. I still don’t think it stops them from looking at an edge rusher, even if they sign one and Honor pans out. It’s a premium position in the league. I think this is a big year for Ben Jones, our receivers, and Walker. All 3 of those positions are going to get real interesting....

i gotta think we keep rak/morgan (at least 1 of them) for next year, i dont see us going OLB in the first after taking LB basically twice in the first this year

Yeah. Barring lack of signing and of a disappointing year for Honor. That said, it’s why I mentioned the other positions. It’s way too early because a lot depends on our situation and production at the end of this year.

I have a winner-gets-a-jersey bet with a Titan fan - he's oh so certain Landry will explode this year (don't get me wrong I'd love to see it)

He said Landry would be starting by seasons end, and have 6+ sacks.....

I said, Landry would basically have to START every game - and eat like 65% of the snaps on one (or the other) side....... Because Orakpo and Morgan had only 7 a piece........ to get 6 or more as a rotational/sub player your first year........ very very tall order...

Hell, our rotational guy last year, Erik Walden only had 4 -- and he was on the field all the time... even so much that he had more tackles than Derrick Morgan....

(other notes, Jurrell Casey had only 6, Woody only 5 - so idk why he thinks 6+ sacks is cakewalk... for a backup lol)
