I'm not sure this could have been worded any better.
2015 Manning was easily the worst SB winning QB season of all time. Roadkill doesn't even describe how absolutely putrid he was. Dilfer was better in 2000.

 

Here's how I see it going...

Brady will end his career but the Patriots will manage and carry on without him and Pats fans will be as obnoxious as ever "we got Belichick! We don't need Tom!"

However...

As the season progresses, it will become apparent that Belichick and Tom needed each other to "make it work".

Tom Brady has had to pull that team onto his shoulders to win multiple times because he's great.

The cracks will form and reality will set in... Tom needed Bill AND Bill needed Tom.

What about all the games won without Tom here and there over the years?

I dunno. The last time Tom missed significant time was the year he tore his knee up. They missed the playoffs. They also had, in my opinion, a better roster then than they do now.

I’ll give Belichick credit. I don’t think that roster is incredibly talented by any means. But he has them playing disciplined, team football, year in year out. They know what it takes to win.

But Brady is a big part of that too. Swap him out for mariota last year, we make the super bowl. They probably miss the playoffs.

Then when Brady was out for deflate gate they go 3-1. I mean obviously Brady is huge, but every time hes been out they dont seem to miss him.

It's a very valid point. In every season since Brady has taken over a starter, they finished outside of the top 10 in points allowed only 3 times. There have been several QB who have put up numbers similar to or better than Brady in the regular season and playoffs, but no team has had such a string of successful defenses during this time.

Those first 3 SBs which were won by NE, he finished the regular season with a QB rating which was 22nd, 22nd, and 15th in the league. But NE has never won a SB without a defense which has finished the regular season top 10 in points allowed, and two of those were #1 in the league and another #3. It's not a knock against him, that is just how important it is to have a strong unit on the other side of the ball.
