I believe that there are a few players who will not fit in with the Vrabel way of doing things. He has already shown a few the door and they have been replaced with new bodies. If Dodd makes it thru training camp then he will deserve to be on the team, you can bet he will have to earn it. I don't think coach will make his decisions slow and drawn out. He has a plan and he won't carry anyone who can't get him there. That is how he played, that is how he will coach.

A poor year would indicate he didn't play well.
The year he just had, he didn't play at all. He was healthy and couldn't even get some substitute play.
Whatever JR saw at 33 was a waste and wrong at this point. Not mad at JR, not only has Tennessee been pretty real awful with 2nd round picks, I'm also realistic that not every pick is going to pan out. Dodd was just a wasted pick, that's it. Don't care if he hangs around for camp, but I don't expect him to be around for the final 53 and to this point, there's no reason the team should even consider it.

This will be one of the more interesting things to follow for me. Can Vrabel push the right buttons or find the right scheme to turn Dodd into a decent option at OLB? Or has he already seen enough film to know it's a lost cause?

I'm 30/70 right now that he makes the team.

Dodd was like 277 coming out and I honestly thought we drafted him with the intention of him adding 10-15 pounds to play 3-4 DE. When I found out they wanted him to play OLB I couldn't believe it. How's a 277 pound OLB going to drop in coverage and run with athletic TE's when necessary? I agree with whoever said he needs to move to 3-4 DE, he's already proven he's not up to playing OLB.

The worst part about the Dodd pick was all the players who were left on the board when we made the selection. Myles Jack was still there and that stings, especially since he went to a division rival. Granted, he was coming off of an injury but was definitely worth the risk at that point. If we have Jack on this team, we probably don't draft Evans and can address other needs in this year's draft.
